i don't think it is desmond. if it was...why wouldn't anyone show up to his funeral? it better not be tho, i LOVE desmond! i really do think it is michael. it makes sense if it is him, rather than everyone else. I can't wait till the finale!

I have a nagging suspicion that it's either Ben or Locke. All the signs point to it: They both could have worsened conditions after leaving the island and died; neither had any friends and wasn't liked by Kate much; after they die, Jack realizes they were right about the island...

But I'm not sure which of them is more likely. (And I'm pretending they'll both live forever, in my happy world)

Bens new name for sayid could of been on the newspaper jack had saying who had die and was in the coffin, thats my guess.

No-one turns up because Widmore is keeping an eye on the funeral (may have paid off the director) in case any Others showed up to get information for how to get to The Island.

Either her, Ben, or Michael (but I really hope it's Michael).

It's silly to say it's Walt because the coffin is small, because nowadays Walt's as tall as anybody. And I didn't think it was that small anyway.

But if it's Desmonds in there, I will unfortunately have to kill J.J.Abrams.

I don't think that Jack would be too upset if its Micheal. He wouldn't even show up. Plus Micheal has a son and a mother, who would have showed up for the funeral.

Locke's my best bet ... or ben ... simply because no one was at the funeral and they didnt have any family or friends ... and no one showed up from the crash bcus they weren't liked by the ones who left !

But you picked Walt? Do you not think Michael and his grandmother would go to his funeral?

Locke still has Emily Locke and maybe Helen to go to his funeral, and I'm sure Hurley, Ben or Sun might have done. The only person who has no-one off the island is Ben, and this would explain why Jack is upset in Through the Looking Glass - he wants to go back and Ben was his best chance. In fact, I am now pretty confident it is Ben Linus in that coffin. I'll bet Des will kill him to save Penny.

Oh, and it can't be Des in the coffin because all of his army and monastary buddies, as well as Penny and Ruth would have gone to his funeral.
