I've done quite a few picks of my inayopendelewa sinema on this spot, and my taste doesn't really change (majority of my vipendwa have been on the orodha for years) so I figured I'd do an article. Because it's zaidi fun I suppose. I'm going to count backwards, and provide wewe with a quote and try not to talk about them too much.

PS: Don't insult my taste, au Freddy will get wewe in your sleep. I'm eclectic, I rarely like the same type of movies.

20. Dreamland (2006)
I'm 18 years old and I just want to surrender.
I'm 18 years old and I just want to surrender.

This movie has the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen in any movie. If wewe like to look at pretty things, I highly recommend it. The mediocre plot won't bother wewe with these backdrops. Plus Agnes is also super pretty & legit.

19. James & the Giant peach, pichi (1996)
 Marvelous things will happen.
Marvelous things will happen.

Most people don't know this is a Disney movie but it is, and I enjoy rubbing it in the faces of Disney elite. This movie is so much better than the average Disney film.

18. Pandorum (2009)
We call it Pandorum. It drove him insane.
We call it Pandorum. It drove him insane.

Ben Foster, anyone? This is like The Descent, except it's in space. So eerily similar, the creatures are badass in this one.

17. 3:10 to Yuma (2007)
 I hate posses.
I hate posses.

Ben Foster AGAIN, anyone? :D I'm not a shabiki of westerns, but this movie makes me appreciate them slightly more. It's a phenomenal remake with an outstanding cast.

16. The Running Man (1987)
I'm not into politics. I'm into survival.
I'm not into politics. I'm into survival.

This movie is proof that the 80s were the decade for awesome movies! It's Ahnold's best for sure, and the concept is absolutely brilliant.

15. Sunshine (2007)
The only dream I ever have is of the surface of the sun. Everytime I shut my eyes, it's all I can see.
The only dream I ever have is of the surface of the sun. Everytime I shut my eyes, it's all I can see.

Despite the global warming message, this is a deeply touching movie. Not to mention it has a near-perfect cast (Rose Byrne! Chris Evans! Cillian Murphy!) & an even zaidi perfect soundtrack. Would wewe sacrifice yourself into space to save the sun?

14. The Girl inayofuata Door (2004)
I just wanna let wewe know, I know who wewe really are, and you're better than this.
I just wanna let wewe know, I know who wewe really are, and you're better than this.

A sex comedy with heart! And a big, big moyo it has. Amazing cast (Elisha Cuthbert & Timothy Olyphant, HELLO!), hilarious dialogue, and the sweetest romance to ever hit the big screens (take that Jack & Rose!).

13. Romy & Michele's High School Reunion (1997)
Isn't it weird when you're not Marafiki with your Marafiki anymore? I mean, Michele & I just fell out of touch about two hours ago.
Isn't it weird when you're not Marafiki with your Marafiki anymore? I mean, Michele & I just fell out of touch about two hours ago.

This is the greatest best friend movie ever. I would upendo a friendship like theirs, only I suppose with zaidi smarts :P

12. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992)
Great, my secret weapon is PMS. That's just terrific. Thanks for telling me.
Great, my secret weapon is PMS. That's just terrific. Thanks for telling me.

SMG, I upendo wewe and all but THIS is my Buffy! And future horror-comedy movie-makers listen up - this is how wewe should be making Wanyonya damu funny! And the dialogue! OMG, the 90s retro speak brings back memories.

11. Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
Now boys, if either of wewe give me any grief I swear to God I'll kill you. Dead, murdered, stabbed.
Now boys, if either of wewe give me any grief I swear to God I'll kill you. Dead, murdered, stabbed.

This is the movie I quote from most often. Such a classic that nobody knows about. Some parts are ridiculous, but it's an 80s movie...find me one that isn't.

10. Scream (1996)
Don't wewe blame the movies! sinema don't create psychos, sinema make psychos zaidi creative!
Don't wewe blame the movies! sinema don't create psychos, sinema make psychos zaidi creative!

What a great, great movie. This one didn't introduce me to horror, but it did start my obsession with it. 15 years I have been a hardcore horror fanatic, and it's all thanks to this movie.

9. The Breakfast Club (1985)
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.
We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all.

Bender, the most quotable character in movie history. This is my 2nd most quoted from movie, and I'm probably in upendo with Bender. What girl isn't though? Did I mention I know this entire movie kwa heart?

8. Anastasia (1997)
If we live through this, remind me to thank you.
If we live through this, remind me to thank you.

This was my biggest childhood obsession. I watched it every single night, and if I had Marafiki spending the night we watched it and did all the lines and motions kwa heart. We were a rad bunch of kids, wewe know.

...This is where it gets difficult to rank

7. A Nightmare on Elm mitaani, mtaa (1984)
One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
One, two, Freddy's coming for you.

Now I know how people feel when their inayopendelewa sinema get remade. I normally don't mind remakes, but I was utterly crushed they were remaking this. Why? It's perfect! A great mix of comedy and genuine horror and a super badass final girl. This is the 2nd best film series in history btw.

6. pembetatu (2009)
Bad dreams make wewe think you're seeing things wewe haven't.
Bad dreams make wewe think you're seeing things wewe haven't.

That quote, foreshadowing much? This is the most thought-provoking movie I've tolerated. I'll be the first to admit, I usually just like to have fun with sinema and not over-analyze them. But I've analyzed this one to death and I still come with something new. I'm gonna go ahead and be one of those annoying mashabiki that says "If wewe didn't like it, wewe didn't understand it" because it's true. AMAZING movie.

5. The Fifth Element (1997)
I don't know love. I was built to protect, not to love.
I don't know love. I was built to protect, not to love.

Another movie I can quote kwa heart. If you've seen it, wewe know why it's so amazing. I don't need to tell you. So fantastic.

4. Saw (2004)
Most people are so ungrateful to be alive. But not you, not anymore.
Most people are so ungrateful to be alive. But not you, not anymore.

wewe will never find a bigger stan for this series than me. Take that as wewe will, good au bad. I could talk for hours about this series with somebody, anybody. I could tell wewe every redeeming quality about it, why it is NOT torture porn, why John Kramer is the most fascinating & complex character in movie history, etc. The continuity, the characters, the traps!, everything about it is perfect. And the ending for this one left me forever entranced.

3. The Descent (2005)
 Hey, there's something down here...
Hey, there's something down here...

Now I'm going to confuse wewe all here for a minute. After my raving about Saw, I'm placing this before it. It is my inayopendelewa standalone horror movie. Yes, I'm choosing to ignore the sequel because it should have never existed. For an all-female cast, this is one damn awesome movie. Sarah is one of my inayopendelewa movie characters ever, and this is the most perfect horror movie ever. So claustrophobic though so if you're a wimp, stay away.

2. Brick (2005)
wewe better be sure wewe wanna know what wewe wanna know.
You better be sure wewe wanna know what wewe wanna know.

Brendan, the sexiest/wittiest/most intelligent human being ever. No question, he's my inayopendelewa movie character and probably my 2nd inayopendelewa character overall. I think this movie should be required kwa everyone to watch, but it's either a upendo au hate it kind of movie. The dialogue is admittedly very difficult to understand. But if wewe aren't 2, wewe should be okay.

1. Murder kwa Death (1976)
Locked, from the inside. That can only mean one thing..and I don't know what it is.
Locked, from the inside. That can only mean one thing..and I don't know what it is.

The most amazing movie ever, EVER!! All-star cast, amazing dialogue, great setting, perfect plot, I could go on and on. I know this movie kwa heart. I know I've alisema that before, but this one is definite. I once quoted the entire movie start to finish without watching it. (Because I have a life, wewe see.) I used to watch this every night as a kid, but sadly I haven't quite kept up with that lately. Sometimes this & Brick are tied, but today this wins.
