I also have some speculation - when the eater of a DF dies, that DF is no longer absorbed kwa their body and is easily taken from them - I'm guessing not in physical form, but the powers exist in some form and Blackbeard figured out some way in kuunganisha them. However, I do believe that it is his Yami Yami No Mi that allowed him to be able to eat two fruits, because it granted him the atypical body structure that Wiki mentioned. I believe, because it is abnormal for a Logia, not allowing him to become intangible in the same way that others have, like the Hie Hie No Mi, Magu Magu No Mi, Pika Pika No Mi, Goro Goro No Mi and others. That's why he was able to eat the second, I think. Of course that, too, is speculation.
