Mort stared at the fish. In the lemur’s eyes, it was an ugly looking thing; it stank too. Mort touched the samaki and jumped back as soon as he touched it. It was cold and scaly. He continued staring at it.
In turn, the samaki lay unblinkingly. It must have thought that it was extremely rude for the rat/monkey like creature to stare at it and not offer any assistance. The samaki watched as the creature’s eyes grew large.
The tiny lemur’s mind was working overtime. samaki = present = feet! Mort jumped with joy. He picked up the scaly thing, ignoring the cold, slimy feeling, and ran to his king....
