This is so wrong I can't even... Survival of the fittest didn't need to happen? Monkeys wouldn't have even evolved without it. There would be nothing but extremely weak, simple single-celled organisms on the planet. Additionally, it's not that we were "smarter." Evolutionary paths diverged, so at one point our brains were exactly the same. It only happened that one branch of apes was zaidi adaptable, not necessarily smarter.

It's not that we were smarter, it was collective learning and symbolic language that made homo sapiens evolve into humans. Without the ability to communicate using words and language, we would all still be primates.

We did not evolve from monkeys, we share a common ancestor with them!~ Meaning that there was once another species of primate that we evolved from that the monkeys of today also evolved from. We still have moneys and apes because we did not evolve directly from them but from another primate. That primate is not around today.
