Don't ever be afraid! The violin is a form of expression, your expression, and extension of your arm and a life long friend. If wewe are afraid, wewe play badly. wewe get nervous, wewe lose control, string crossing woukd be shaky, notes would be sharper then it should be. Embrace it. upendo it. Play other compositions wewe are used to, then ease in Bach's peice. Do not start with the intro, and never, EVER, start to prsctice with the simpler sun sections. Start with the killer. The hardest, most difficult part. If wewe start with simpler parts, wewe get too comfortable, then wewe start to become too afraid to upgrade into the harder parts. Play in 1/2 notes than in quicker speeds. Level your way up into 1/4, then 1/8, then 1/16, and keep going. Ignore the dynamics at first, just plainly play the notes. Trust me, I started to play the violin at age 7, and although it may seem like I was playing forever, I am still a beginner. wewe can do this. Belief is the strongest asset to a musician.
