Depends on the setting really. Generally I will talk to people, I usually have no problem striking up conversation. I was hella bored at my graduation and talked to a few strangers for a little bit before drifting back into a wicked intense day dream up the Korra comic (that I am buying today).

But at the same time, I'm an introvert and prefer to keep to myself.

I'm not really shy, sometimes I just tend to be the silent type who just observes. I do this for a few reasons.

1) I don't always have something to say.
2) Even when I do, It's sometimes hard to start a convo. Especially when there's more than 1 other person around.
3) I have this awful feeling of never quite belonging anywhere I go. It's like.... I'm here, I exist. But I just don't think I belong here, like I'm always out of place. That feeling has never completely left me, and I don't think it ever will.

I'm actually not talkative but I get along just fine.

Same here am not the most talkative to strangers and usually like to keep to myself as well but lots of the time I have to talk a lot people.XD @ShadowFan100 I can relate to a lot you said especially when you said don't have a lot to say or don't feel I belong, I don't know with a lot of people I feel they have their own little groups so they talk to the people in that group only.

I'm generally quite shy. Like I wont approach someone but I will talk to them if I'm approached.
I'm 100 times better socially than I was say 5 years ago. Still not great but I can manage.

Not shy though, just have crippling social anxiety... I'm working through it. :/

I don't have any problem with talking to people. I enjoy a good conversation. Even if it's someone I don't like I can manage just fine. I guess it's about having a good 'social intelligence'
