Scotty's Idol sales

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina lead the American Idol pack in sales this week, and Friday's Good Morning America appearance should only help their sales going forward. Scotty's Walmart EP sold 17,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, bringing its total to 119,000. This season's juu finishers were two of the six Idols in this week's Billboard 200.

It's been a long journey since last mwaka when I auditioned for American Idol, and you've been with me every step of the way. That's why I wanted wewe to be the first to know the details of my debut album. After all of the hard work over the last year, I am excited to tell wewe that my album, Clear As Day, will be released on Oct. 4 on Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope.

We've been working hard on this album not only in Nashville, but in studios across the country because I've been on the Idol tour. We're putting what I believe are the best songs we could find on it and I really hope everyone...

Millions of mashabiki are anxiously awaiting the first album from Scotty McCreery, and the 'American Idol' winner is working tirelessly to give them just what they want to hear.

"Right now, we are still in the process of picking songs and recording songs and laying down vocals," Scotty dishes to Yahoo. "The process is going really well and I'm excited about it."

"Scotty McCreery, a 17-year-old student from Garner, had a deep voice and country twang that helped him convince the American Idol judges that he was their man.

McCreery sang a verse from "Your Man" kwa Josh Turner at the American Idol auditions in Milwaukee. The audition aired Wednesday night on FOX8.

McCreery received high praise from the judges, including what might be the strangest thing we've heard from Steven Tyler this year.

Scotty McCreery releases a new song today called “The Trouble With Girls,” which is the sekunde single from his much-anticipated debut album, Clear As Day, due Oct. 4.

“It’s a really sweet song,” Scotty says. “I played it for my sister and I said, ‘Would wewe like to hear what’s alisema in this song?’ She said, ‘I would upendo to have a guy say some of this stuff to me.’

“It’s talking about how great they are and it’s tough for the guy to handle because he just loves it. It has a nice twist to it. It’s like the songwriters wrote it just for me.”

American Idol champ Scotty McCreery recently revealed that he'd be covering a Keith Urban song on his new album, but didn't say which one. Until now.
"That's been the big mystery," Scotty acknowledges to CountryWeekly.com. “‘What song is Scotty singing?’”

In 1997, pre-solo success, Keith was a member of trio The Ranch; the band released the single “Walkin’ the Country,” which reached No. 50 on the Billboard country singles chart. Now, Scotty will include the song on his upcoming debut album, Clear as Day, which will be released Oct. 4.

Keith gave the song to Scotty with his blessing....

Idol Winner McCreery Bows with nearly 200k, #1 Debut, as Rodney Atkins, Feist, Jack's Mannequin Score juu 10 Bows

Scotty McCreery has proven a worthy American Idol winner. Celebrating his 18th birthday last Sunday (10/9), the good ole young boy from a small town in North Carolina debuts at #1 as his first studio effort, Mercury Nashville/19/Interscope’s Clear as Day, sells 198k in its first week.

That’s the most for an American Idol winner since David Cook’s debut sold 280k in Nov. 2008, and the first champ to bow at #1 with his initial release since sekunde season champ Ruben Studdard’s Soulful topped the chart in 2003.
