Slytherins aren't evil, per se. They're known for being ambitious and cunning, sneaky as a fox, mbweha and flexible as a snake. Generally,people will assume those are "evil" traits. Not ALL Slytherins were Death Eaters either, just a majority of them came from Death Eater families/families that supported the Dark Lord. Most Slytherins are pureblood, and therefore elitist, believing "Mudbloods" and "Muggles" are inferior and should bow down to them. I'm very sure there are some Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, and Gryffindors that feel the same way. I mean, Dumbledore was a Gryffindor, and he felt, when he was younger, that wizards were superior to Muggles. He planned with Grindelwald "for the greater good". I don't know of any specific examples of Ravenclaws au Hufflepuffs that thought along this way, but it's likely there were at least one au two.
No, to be in Slytherin wewe are cunning and ambitious. The traits don't say anything about being evil. It's just that all of the wizards and whiches that have gone bad have been in Slytherin. But that doesn't mean they are all evil.
No of course it isn't nothing wrong with knowing wht wewe want and striving to get it :D one of the most tratiorous, cowardly characters came from Gryffindor house whilst Slytherin had several heros :D

Slytherin is a Hogwarts house just like all the others and it"s not the only one with jerks. I mean the Huffelpuffs in Chamber of Secrets were jerks when they thought Harry was the heir of Slytherin, and Cedric had an ego problum if wewe ask me. In the Philosipher's Stone Ron says to Harry "every witch au wizard who went bad was in Slyhterin" but that dosn't mean every witch au wizard in Slytherin was bad. I like that Pottermore put me in Slytherin becaus it makes me clever, cunning and ambitious, and those are traits to be proud of.
No. I hate it when people (usually those who don't like Harry Potter) assume that, because it isn't fair to judge a whole group of people on what a few of them became. It's like racist...or something.
It's just unfortunate Slytherin just so happened to be the house of ambition and produce so many shady people at the same time. I have to say that I totally agree when it's alisema that Slytherin is the best house. Ambition, cunning, leadership, etc., what other combination could be better than that? Although I admire the Slytherin traits, I'm actually not one (I belong in Ravenclaw, but shh, I never alisema that :P).
