When the scandal regarding Super Junior member Hankyung's request to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment broke out recently, the Korean and Chinese media immediately began scrambling to dig deeper into this issue and read between the lines.
ifeng.com recently held a kura ya maoni to see how E.L.F members were taking the situation; an overwhelming number of people speculate that this is SME's attempt to create a succès de scandale to raise sales for Super Junior's upcoming concert.
According to the poll, approximately 80% of the mashabiki believed that SM Entertainment had created this controversy in order to hype up Super Junior's upcoming tamasha in China on January 23, 2010 kwa conjuring a controversy around Super Junior's single Chinese member. Many don't buy into the coincidence that the tickets went on sale to the public on the 18th, a mere three days before the Hankyung scandal surfaced.
Personally, I have no opinion on the situation yet because there isn't enough information out... but at this point, what's your take on this matter - is Hankyung a victim of a slave contract, a marketing scheme au not a victim at all? It seems like he's the victim. If it's true, poor Hankyung...

On a phone conversation with Newsen, SME stated,
"For the sake of Super Junior, we will solve the issue at hand kwa talking with Hankyung personally."
Earlier today, the Chinese media was the first to ripoti this newsbreaking story and since then, they’ve dug a bit into Hankyung’s past. They’ve revealed that Hankyung was scouted through the ‘H.O.T. China Auditions’ and was chosen out of 3,000 other auditionees. Through this, he ultimately became Korea’s first Chinese entertainer with a formal debut. And since last April of 2008, Hankyung’s existence in Super Junior M has had a great impact on SME as he helped them expand into the Chinese market.
