[BREAKING] Super Junior\'s Kangin under investigation for DUI accident

Super Junior\'s Kangin is currently under investigation due to a car accident allegedly caused while he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kangin is accused of drinking and driving his Mercedes-Benz vehicle into a streetlamp and fleeing the scene. On May 24, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station stated he\'s under investigation after colliding with a lamp post in front of a Gangnam convenience store earlier in the day at 2AM KST.

The store owner is said to have called the police to report a downed streetlamp, and after interviewing witnesses, the police reportedly found the Super Junior member was responsible. Reports also say Kangin parked his car in front of the convenience store for 2 hours before driving, which is when the accident occurred and he fled the scene. 

Kangin is reported to have expressed to the police that he remembered hitting something with his car, but he had no idea it was a streetlamp. Police have stated they\'re currently looking into Kangin\'s blood alcohol content as well as whether he did actually flee the scene.

In related news, Kangin was also charged with a DUI and hit and run in 2009. Stay tuned for updates.

For those defending him, if he wasn\'t an idol, would you still defend him? I bet you would be angered and would tell him to go to jail if he wasn\'t an idol. You are ok with him recklessly driving into the streets drunk. This is a serious "mistake" he\'s commiting...twice too! If he has depression, it\'s still not ok. He needs to get help asap! Drunk driving kills. He was lucky that street light wasn\'t a person.

What? The point is that he could have hit a person or another car... how could you not see that?

The problem is not the fact that it is a streetlamp, it is that Kangin has no idea what he hit... What if it was a person... ?

Okay, who of you here have not committed the same mistake not just twice but a lot of times? Yes, he may be an idol but he\'s fucking human. And don\'t tell me that he should be mindful of what he\'s doing because others look up to him.

There is a difference between mistake and crime... I understand idols are human and let them make mistake but he committed a crime

This mistake is just quite severe crime as well. I wouldn\'t say he\'s undeserving of forgiviness cause I think none is, but he must face consequences for his crime. If he is having alcohol problems he should also go to rehab and if he can\'t stop drunk driving then he shouldn\'t drive. He\'s endangering people after all with these mistakes.

*Raise hand* me ! I can assure you I never run away after hitting something with my car without even knowing what it was... Like, seriously... ? That\'s what car assurance are made for. He\'s just being a dishonest coward here...

God, I hate how everyone is instantly attacking him. Have any of you even wondered why he might be repeating these mistakes? maybe he\'s really fucking depressed right now and not in the best emotional state. I\'m not trying to defend the fact that he was drinking and driving, I\'m just saying that he might not be an irresponsible man-child who can\'t handle his alcohol like everyone\'s making him out to be. We don\'t know what mental state he\'s in right now, so let\'s wait for more details before dragging him through the mud. -_-

i am really sorry, i am not hating but in response to your comment i would like to say that if he is not in his right mind then i don\'t think he should be driving! especially after drinking, that\'s a very simple thing. He could have called for a driver

you do know drunk driving is illegal, right? thats a crime. he was driving, while drunk. get that in your tiny head. DUI is for drunk driving, which is a crime. be happy he didnt hit a human.

I almost feel like crying right now :\'( I\'m an ELF, I love them and support them to death, but I\'m soooo disappointed right now, I can\'t even express it.. SMH I love Kangin, and eventhough I didn\'t even know them in 2009, I felt bad for what happened, and thought it was just a one-time thing, \'cuz he was young and all.. But now, after 7 years, he went to the army, reflected on his mistake, and he is 31 years old, repeating the same mistake ? I mean how can you drive while being drunk ?? Especially after what already happened, and you go away without even checking what you hit !?? I love you, Kangin, I seriously do, but you have to get your sh*t together, take responsabilities, and be a man, \'cuz this is unacceptable !! SMH
