Long. Sleek. Black. Four doors. Stereo. Tape deck. Hidden shina compartment with full arsenal. American-made. And as tough a soldier as any of the three men who've driven it for the last thirty-seven years.
The main vehicle of the TV series Supernatural has been through a lot since the wierd twist of fate that convinced John Winchester to choose it over a Volkswagen van. John eventually gave the car to his elder son, Dean. In turn, Dean instructed his younger brother, Sam, to take care of the car if anything should happen to him.
Most of its life, the Winchester Impala has known what it means to be a hunter- a hunter of Supernatural creatures, that is. Demons, ghosts, shapeshifters, it's seen 'em all. The Impala has been chased, possessed, wrecked, stolen, mutilated and abused. It's been rebuilt, repaired, loved, and coddled. It's been the butt of jokes, the subject of an auto shop, the recipient of both upendo and anger, and virtually the only means of transportation for the two main characters throughout five seasons and over a hundred episodes of demon-hunting. That car has been through as many trials and tribulations as either of the Winchester brothers and has been rightly dubbed "the third Winchester brother."
