First of all:
Enough of all this blaming judge Turpin on every single bad thing that ever happened!
The man has become something of the big bad mbwa mwitu around here, the worlds biggest scapegoat!
I know, i know. He desired a pretty woman, used his authority to falsley imprisoned her husband to get him out of the way, and than assaulted her in a room fool of other rich people that found the whole thing to be a great big laugh.
I am not at all saying that what he did was not wrong, i'd be a complete fool to ever think such a thing, nor am i justifying his actions in any way, but just let me explain something.
If it weren't for him, Benjamin Barker would not have Lost everything so suddenly and so horribly, but he had nothing to do with the Sweeney Todd's killing spree.
Allot of people here (it may au may not have something to do with that actor that no one will shut up about) seem to be under the inpression that Mr.Todd is nothong but a poor helpless victim of fate that is without blame and his killings of innocent people were completley justified.
I understand. I have always been fascinated with fictional/real killers, to the point were i felt adoration for them that bordered on attraction, like with Freddy, Hannibal, and Pinhead.
But i never forgot what they were. Like most every killer real au imagined, they suffered a terrible loss that drove them to the brink. But what happened afterwards was there own faults. Take Fred Krueger for example. If wewe go around murdering the children of the townspeople that have hurt wewe your entire life, and wewe end up being burned to death, that was your own fault.
There are things in life that wewe cannot control, but wewe can control how wewe react to greif. Turpin caused Barker so much grief, but how he reacted to the situation was all him. We all have the responsibility of dealing with greif in a way that will harm no one and yourself.
It is actually reassuring for me to see that people these days are still capable of sympathy. But sympathising with someone does not mean that wewe see past that person's wrongdoings and making him out to be an angel. wewe must see the whole truth and not turn a blind eye to the ugly parts of it.
Take John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein, Andrei Chikatilo, and every other person who ever took innocent lives because of a deep persoal tragedy. Did the juries feel sorry for them? No. They saw them for what they were and had them sentenced to death in spite of everything.
I felt terribly sorry for them, but i knew that it didn't excuse them for what they did and that they were deserving of their fates.
If Benjamin Barker's 14 mwaka imprisonment left him so full of rage and a need for justice, why not just wait until the opportunity to kill the judge came again? He didn't have to slaughter all those innocent people like a way to pass the time.
Going along with Mrs.Lovett's plan like some sort of mindless dog didn't have to happen.
But losing everything before going to prison for over a decade is enough to drive anyone mad, so saying he should have thought rationally is poitically incorrect of me.
Just stop feeling sorry for him in such a way that wewe emphasize the good sides and overlook the horrible parts. That's like only kusoma the happy parts of a Harry Potter book. How are wewe supposed to get the whole story?
To wewe Johnny Depp fangirls, here's somethong explaining what wewe have. Become aware of this syndrome and get cured!
