In the Twilight Saga, the shape-shifters are different from the Children of the Moon (the mtu-bweha that follow the rules of traditional mythology) in many ways. Under the Twilight series, they turn into Mbwa mwitu loups when they want to and when they're mad. Normally, they become mtu-bweha because they are bitten, but here it's genetics.
