The Host Swali

A lot like twilight??

Does anyone else see so many similarities between the host and twilight? The doctor is compassionate, the main character can't lie, she loves two guys at once, melanie sort of represents renesmee....what can wewe come up with?

well mel's renesmee because of the jared/jacob thing(mel did hit jared when he kissed her, too) but also because of her personality. and Bella can't lie very well...I'm just saying I think Meyer is repetitve...and i like twilight. And Jasper!!

The Host Majibu

Well, Bella can't lie because she sucks. But it's also not in Wandas' nature to lie. And Mel hit Jared for kissing Wanda, not her. And Wanda loves Jared as a friend, she only loved him zaidi then that because she also had Mels' feelings. Wanda loves Ian. There is a bit of a resemblance but not much.

Well, Bella can lie. And Wanda doesn't upendo both guys until the end. There isn't a real threesome until the last half part of the book. And... I don't see why Mel represent Renesmee? Is it because of Jacob/Jared?
Every book can compare to one another. I think Meyer did a great job leaving all those sparkeling vamps behind.

I honestly don't see much of a resemblance except for the "voice" of the narrator -aka- Stephenie Meyer. I think doctors are, for the most part, compassionate. I don't see the Renesmee similarity at all, that's just me. Bella was one person who loved both men, but Melanie and Wanderer are separate creatures despite their one body. In Twilight the reader desires to be other than human, but with The Host she makes us upendo our humanity, for good au bad. Stephenie Meyer creates worlds that we jump in rather than simply read, and they touch us on a soul deep level (no pun intended, lol). I think that upendo is the common thread in her stories. Cheesy, I know, but we're addicted to her stories for a reason :)
