'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' Movie Plot: 20th Century Fox Reveals Official Synopsis! Gladers Search For WCKD In Unrated Film

(Photo : Facebook/The Maze Runner Series) The official synopsis of "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" has been released.

"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials," the movie adapted from the James Dashner\'s book of the same name, was given the release date of Sept. 18, but the excitement for its debut can be felt as early as now.

The excitement of fans of the movie, which stars Dylan O\'Brien as Thomas and Kaya Scodelario as Teresa, will be heightened as

20th Century Fox has released the official synopsis for "The Maze Runner" sequel.

In this next chapter of the epic "Maze Runner" saga, Thomas (Dylan O\'Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD\'s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.

The release of the movie\'s synopsis comes a few weeks after fans took to Twitter to speculate about the release of the film\'s trailer.

While news about the movie has been scarce, Dashner has assured fans that the upcoming feature will "kick butt."

"Some things may take you by surprise, but I can tell you this: the movie is going to kick butt," he teased on his website.

Apart from its returning actors, O\'Brien, Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki Hong Lee, "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" will also feature many newcomers, including Giancarlo Esposito and Aidan Gillen, who will both play villains in the upcoming film.

The movie also stars Nathalie Emmanuael, Barry Pepper, Rosa Salazar, Lili Taylor, Jacob Lofland and Katherine McNamara.

The film was directed by Wes Ball and produced by Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and Lee Stollman.
