Totally agree with the article! I mean the Office UK has a special place in my heart. But Steve Carrell and the gang at Dunder Mifflin have definitely carved out their own place in the annals of television greatness. His unique personality and the Jim and Pam romance add a very special element to this series that makes it stand apart.

I think the UK version deserves a little more credit. The US version wouldn't exist if it weren't for Ricky Gervais. Having said that, I do agree that Steve Carrel and co are not in anyway their UK counterparts, and I agree that they will succeed where the UK didn't. I mean Dawn's got nothing on Pam.

Although, I'm a little worried with the arrival of Andy and Karen. Andy's funny, but it's just not the same. And Karen? Karen's nice but a bit boring.

I think the Jim/Pam romance is a lot more believable than Tim/Dawn... I mean, Dawn knew she had some romantic influence on Tim and made the most of it. Pam was perfectly oblivious, which made their friendship all the better, I think. Just a thought. I love both versions.
