Does anyone think the writers harbor discrimination against Bonnie?

I am very disappointed with the writers as I think it is shameful that in 2012 it is still not "acceptable" to have minority actors as lead characters. Let's be honest, Bonnie is not really portrayed as a main character and her storyline is inconsistent and poor; is this because she does not fit the stereotypical character (WHITE!)??and why are all the supporting cast White? We live in a multicultural society and to tarehe I do not believe that TVD portrays this. I know that the TVD producers have stated on numerous occasions that this will be the season that Bonnie is front and centre, I have not witnessed that yet! I find it condescending and a very poor excuse to keep mashabiki watching, as we are hanging on for this "Front and Centre" storyline. I hope that the writers and producers do take notice and listen to the mashabiki that are upset about the treatment of minority actors, but I won't hold my breath, as we are obviously being considered a minority as mashabiki have been complaining since season 1 and have been ignored.

Technically, yes, it's obvious that Bonnie has very little screen time compared to the other characters, but I don't think it's strictly because of her skin color.

If they're only treating Bonnie that way because she's black, then how do wewe explain the fact that they treat Matt's character the exact same way? That boy couldn't possibly be any whiter than he is and his screen time is just as lacking as Bonnie's.

I think the truth is that both Bonnie and Matt's storylines have been written poorly in the past which makes it hard for the mashabiki to really connect with them and the writers simply don't know what to do about it so they kind of just let them hang there. They've basically become filler characters, existing only in case the other characters need them, and once they've played their part, they quietly slink away until they're needed again.

It's unfortunate for the actors (whom I think are incredible) because both characters have a lot of potential in their own way, but the writers either don't see it au they just aren't interested in taking advantage of it since there are so many other great characters to choose from.

How about the scene where two Salvatores flipped a coin, at first I was like WTF!! Then I remembered "oh..Okay they used to be former slave owners", then their action I understand, to decide two black lives over a coin. I heard in Tumbler one shabiki was saying “Some mashabiki noticed issue with Bonnie as they are Blacks and over dramatic. “ I'm not black but I still can see because I have eyes, can’t be in denial. As for Matt/Bonnie comparison, Matt doesn’t get screen-time, but still he is a character with real purpose, to onyesha human person’s view in show. Bonnie is not a character. She is just a plot au property and that irks me; White characters of the onyesha treat Bonnie as property, fandom bullshit on her, loath Bonnie in such a passion that they insult the actress and her looks also!!!(Awful I know but really it happened). Have wewe ever heard stereotypical token black character in party, tv au movies? Well Bonnie is kind of the same. It has changed a lot in sinema but in tv show, not at all. Most of the tv onyesha has one token black character. Some people will say ohh it’s just a show; Bonnie is not treated on her race, but then why she is still a token plot device? I don’t know how many mashabiki have been personally offhanded kwa that coin flipping scene of last episode. In Klaus’s party Bonnie is absent but wewe can see some black folks only to onyesha the multiracial unity thread. I don’t like Julie Plec to take multiracial people to onyesha the unity and not developing them as characters.

I am so Upset with the Writers Bonnie should have a Bigger part in the onyesha .

Learning zaidi about her Self , Her Family Power and what has Happen the the past in Mystic Falls to her Family . With a Town like Mystic Falls There has a have been Bennett's who Fought/ Deal with other Supernaturals Beings before.

That would be a Great Story Bonnie 's Powers one siku ( at some per-set siku ) Could just Grow and she will be one of the Most Powerful Witches to walk the Earth .
I want to see Bonnie and Her Family Bonnie's Mom , Dad and Lucy How they are with each other and How are they as a Family . Would upendo For Bonnie to find out that her Dad and His family are Powerful Witches and He did not Tell Her ,Abby & Grams b/c He did not want this Life for Bonnie and that's why he did not want Grams to Teach Bonnie about the Craft .
I also want to see Her Learning and doing Witchcraft Bonnie is a Witch in a Town where the Supernatural run around all siku everyday there are Good Stories to tell about that .
The Bennett's was one of the 1st and Real Founding Families of Mystic Falls How did they Find it and what happen when the "other Founding Families" Came to town ?
There are so Many Stories I Want to See and Know About Bonnie and her Family and I want the Writers to tell us the story that is all .

YES! Absolutely. We've had season after season of sheer neglect (especially s3) where Nina and Candice (while I upendo 'em) are on screen 90percent of the time and Bonnie's storyline is a few sekunde kwa txt message, narrated kwa characters already too much on screen, au there to do the magic. I'd rather have S1&2 bonnie, going in guns blazing, telling the demanding twofaced Wanyonya damu to scrw themselves and not her witchpowers, and be hated, than be written and treated so carelessly and disrespectfully, as she is now. Katerina/Bonnie deserves SO MUCH BETTER.

Discrimination? I don't think the lack of Bonnie plot is because of the TVD writers are like "Oh, she's black.. we shouldn't give her a huge part in this." I just don't believe that.

But anyway, I do think Bonnie's storylines that are currently on [with her mother] are poorly written for her character, and that doesn't make me like her more. Just less.
And I think the lack of Bonnie in the currently storyline is due to the fact the writers couldn't use her in the plot [or maybe they could, but they just didn't. We can't know.] Because otherwise Bonnie would be a character like Matt. She'll just be there. And let's be honest, I don't think Bonnie mashabiki want that either.

I hope for the future that wewe guys will be aliyopewa a proper Bonnie storyline, but I don't think the lack of it has to do with discrimination. The thing is, she always helps, but when something important goes on, she's never there [like in Dangerous Liaisons]. I'm not a Bonnie fan, but come on, she's like best Marafiki with Caroline and Elena, and they didn't mention her once in this episode. And didn't give her connection to that Aryana [or whatever her name was] her a right to be invited to that ball? Weird.

she's a main character in the book and I know that they aren't following the vitabu but they could at the least respect that.
When they were talking about the ball in the inverview wewe can see that even KattyG is sad because of the way they treat her character.

I think the bias is becoming zaidi and zaidi obvious. While Bonnie was a main character in the vitabu on the onyesha she is only seen when she is helping au saving someone. Even the much awaited entrance of her mother was for the sake of Elena and everyone else. When it comes to storylines and upendo interests and screentime Bonnie is bypassed time and time again. And yes I realize that other characters are neglected but at this point even Matt gets zaidi screentime and though I upendo him I feel like they could do so much zaidi with developing her character not just as a witch but as a person.

I really don't know where to start.
First of all, Bonnie was there for Elena, when her parents died. I don't remember Elena being there for Bonnie when her grams died. Oh, and because of that, they have the excuse for leaving Bonnie out of a few episodes, because she "Had to deal with things". Seriously? They could at least onyesha Elena and Caroline comfort Bonnie! If I were Kat Graham, I would totally quit, and really see how they would do without her on the show. Yeah, it would lose pretty many viewers. Even the people that doesn't like Bonnie, are not Blind. They can see how they treat her character. Bonnie is nothing but a spell-machine. Hell, even Elena doesn't say thank you, when she is saving her. Then none other than Damon Salvatore, the one she didn't exactly like, thanked her. Shouldn't it have been her best friend, and not her frenemy as she kind of calls it. It must hurt to know that everybody was there, getting beautiful, wearing beautiful dresses, and all that, and in exactly that episode, they leave Kat Graham out. I felt sorry for her. I don't know how she can live through that. JP has ruined the show. I want KW back! He at least isn't a fanboy. Episode 3x12 was supposed to be all about Bonnie, but somehow they managed to make it into an Elena episode! Hell, they should just change the name to "Elena Diaries", since it's all about perfect Elena, now trying to wannabe Katherine! Seriously, I upendo Katherine! Stop trying to make Elena in to one -.-

I think they're just following the most maarufu characters right now (which is Elena and Caroline). Plus this is the season of the Originals. I personally don't think they're discriminating against Bonnie. I mean, Bonnie was a bigger part of the story than Caroline in season 1. Honestly, Bonnie's character doesn't interest me that much, so maybe that's why I don't care. I feel like she holds a lot of anger and resentment, and I don't like characters like that (I like zaidi open and friendly people like Caroline). Maybe if they mellowed out Bonnie a bit I'd actually care she wasn't a bigger part of the plot. Also, they need to get her a better boyfriend than Jeremy. au make Jeremy grow imensely as a character. I think I strayed off topic. Oops.

I dont know why they do that!! Bonnie is amazing. All her srotylines are linked to elena. Which i find annoying. Caroline, even matt has his own. Her scenes with Abby were badly written. They alisema "front and center" but i am no see any of that. Rebekah how is not even a main character has had zaidi scenes the Bonnie

In a way.. Bonnie and Matt are in the same boat, they havn't been as active as the other main characters; but this particular storyline is zaidi important for the onyesha and the producers may be struggling to fit scenes in with bonnie and/ au Matt due to lack of screen time.

Though Bonnie is in the promo for 3x15 so hopefully we'll see her in that episode. Afterall these characters may not have major roles, but they are equally important in TVD as the rest of the main cast :)

Bloody hell yes indeed may be not manky right out the hellgates racial towards, actors of color. (Yet) but she does tend to manky use her only for plot devices background noises including Tyler. Both who are different mangy races she strikes meh as a flippin croacker who only likes the blue eye, blonde, brown, green eye, white tan skins. However she also treats ZR and PW like flippin rubish as well. Is she racist? Could be au is she an favorable character loving writer? I say both. Becuz Bonnie is the town's and whole onyesha Witch Slave, while Matt is the towns Human Supernatural life float, Stefan is everybody's fool, and Tyler is Revolutionary mbwa mwitu of Ignorance.
