What hapened with Elena's casting?

Well, the thing is i've read Elena in the vitabu is bolnd (i haven't read the books) and some people say something happened in her casting and that's why elena (nina dobrev) is not blond. my question, what happened?

I dont know, but it is not just the hair colour, it is her whole personality that was altered!

Nina Dobrev's version of Elena is a little zaidi mature and definitely a stronger character.

i agree. I'm glad they went with Nina instead of someone that just looked the part. She definitely makes Elena a stronger character and i think that her appearance helps.
