Mystic Falls is going to hell. How will our faves fare?
No one’s ever having a good time for long on “Vampire Diaries.” Sure, our supernatural friends experience pockets of happiness, but said peace of mind is generally ripped away faster than you can say “doppelganger shenanigans.”
Of course, the upcoming season is a whole new breed of “TVD,” since it’s the first without Nina Dobrev as a series star. Will the citizens of Mystic Falls fare any better without Elena and her magically-infused blood as a lightning rod for all things life-threatening?
From the looks of the season 7 trailer and promo photos… NOPE. As usual, “TVD” seems to be a misery-fest, which is OK by us. Misery brings out the best snarky one-liners in Mystic Falls’ vamp population, you know?
Who’s having the absolute WORST time in “TVD” season 7? Here’s our ranking…
From what we can tell, Lily’s (Annie Wersching) Heretic friends seem to be having a GREAT time in Mystic Falls. The fang gang pretty much surrendered the town to them to do what they will with it.
Sure, we know from the flash forward at the end of season 6 that the town pretty much goes to hell, but, hey, at least the Heretics aren’t stuck desiccating in a prison world anymore, amirite?
We like to tease Elena for the fact that she has been straight-up Sleeping Beauty-ed, but, realistically, she’s probably got the best deal right now. Barring any body-snatchings, she just gets to nap while all of her friends and families deal with the magical messes they’ve gotten themselves into.
What’s Enzo (Michael Malarkey) doing with his life these days? Who knows! What we do know is that, for the first time in a long time, Enzo seems to have a family. Even if they are a bunch of bloodthirsty witch-vampires.
more conflicted about tearing apart Mystic Falls than her Heretic brethren. Sure, she hates the person she was when she first lived there, but that doesn’t change the fact that it used to be her home. And, even if she doesn’t love Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) like she thinks she should, she’s gotta be at least a smidgeon conflicted about making their lives so darn complicated.
had a good season? Human has to get the heck out of Dodge before it’s too late. That being said, he’s looking pretty fine in his police uniform.
Stefan is no doubt feeling a bit blue about the fact that a) his ex-girlfriend is stuck in a supernatural slumber, b) his brother is SUPER heartbroken about it, c) his mother is kind of being a jerk, and d) this Heretic is standing over him, looking all Kai-like. But, this goddess…
…is totally in love with him, so we refuse to rank him any higher on this list.
Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) got some heavy burdens to bear — mainly, the fact that her best friend cannot wake while she lives. So, that’s a bummer. On the other hand, Bonnie’s had to deal with
worse and she does, apparently, have lunch dates with bestie Damon, so there’s that.
Um, has anyone checked in with Ms. Cuddles recently? This magical teddy bear does not tend to have the best of luck. We’re worried about her season 7.
Caroline (Candice Accola) is pretty good at making the best of any situation, but from the looks of the torture she’s enduring in the latest promo, that’s going to be pretty difficult come season 7. Hey, at least Stefan is finally,

Given the whole Wife/Unborn Children Were Massacred On His Wedding Day thing, Alaric (Matt Davis) is going to be topping this ranking for the foreseeable forever. Poor guy.
