Duncan's POV: The inayofuata morning, we had no school because it was a staff meeting day, so I started to fall asleep-

-when my sister screamed downstairs for me to wake up.

I groaned and ran a hand through my thick black hair.

I sat up and fished through my cell phone, seeing if there was anything I could do all day.

I got a news bulletin fron the school council, saying 30 people got picked for the talent onyesha and to meet at 10 AM at the school to discuss practice.

"Anyone who recieves this letter had been chosen to be in the show..." I read and grunted afterwards. Yea that's just what I need, people gawking at me being a retard up on stage imba like a faggot.

Unconsciously, I got dressed in a dark t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and gray converse, and headed out of the house.

I drove out of the driveway, down the mitaani, mtaa toward Courtney's house. It'd be hilarious just to spy on her dancing around in her room screaming "I GOT IN! I GOT IN! I GOT IN!"

I parked outside Courtney's house, and there were no cars in the driveway. Hm...her parents must be at work. Sweet.

I nervously tousled my hair and licked my fangs for some reason. Gathering small slivers of bravery, I found the door to be open, and walked into her house.

There was a hum coming from somewhere, the hum of music. The entire house was empty of people, but that strange hum made me wander around. It grew stronger when I neared the staircase, so I boarded the stairs, and went down the hall, following the growing hum.

It was halfway through October, but since we live in northern Canada, the weather gets cold really early, and there was already about a foot of snow outside. Which made no sense, since yesterday it was really warm.

Tiptoeing further down the hall, I stopped in front of a door and pressed my ear against it, since the hum was loudest in the room. Inside...I heard..something....almost like...singing?

I carefully leaned closer and listened.

I leaned against the door and sighed quietly, listening to Courtney's angelic voice. Then, something struck me.

I kept listening, frozen in my spot, completely starstruck.

I slid to the ground against the door, and suddenly the door swung open, and there stood Courtney above me.

"Miss me, Princess?" I asked sheepishly.

"What are wewe doing on my floor?" She gave me a look like "wtf are wewe on drugs i should know about?"

I stood up. "Was that song about me?"

Her face reddened. "You heard that?"

"Every word." I eased my way into her room and sat on her bed. She sat inayofuata to me and blushed.

"Was it about me?" I pressed again.

She blushed harder.

"Courtney, it's ok, wewe can tell me. I'm not gonna tell anyone. Friend's promise." I put my hand on her shoulder.

Her pink cheeks eased a bit.

"Was the song about me?" I asked softly.

She stuttered a lot. "Y...y......yes."

Then, I started to blush. "For real?"

She stood up. "Look, Duncan, we can't date. We can't be friends, we can't even be seen together. I have a reputation, and if I'm seen with a criminal, my reputation will be in the toilet."

"Court, nobody has to know."

Courtney's POV: I wanted to say something, but my body forced me not to.

"Duncan, wewe have to leave now."

He stood up.

"You sure?" He held my hands.

I blushed. "N...n......no."

"Do wewe want me to stay?"

"...I don't know."

He smiled. "Please?"

I sighed and put my head in my hands. "No. Just...for today, ok?"

"OK." He started walking away.

"Duncan!" I stopped him.

"Yeah?" He turned around. I walked to the other side of him so he wasn't facing the door, but I had my back to it in front of him.

I started moving toward him.

Duncan's POV: "Duncan, you're right. I need wewe zaidi than I imagine, and I know wewe need me." Courtney advanced toward me, her seductive tone making my mind flip like wtf?

"Uh..." Was all I could say. Her body trudged closer to mine.

"You're an amazing singer, kisser, and vampire." Her eyelids closed almost halfway, a look of lust crossing her eyes.

"Court, wewe OK?" I was pressed against the exposed windowsill.

"No." She moved closer to me, her body about a foot away from mine. "I'm lovestruck."

"..."

Her body was just a few inches away from mine, when she took hold of my collar, alama and drew her face closer to mine.

"This is what wewe want, isn't it?" Her lips were just a few millimeters from mine.

"Um..."

"But..." She got closer and closer, my body leaning hard agains the open windowsill.

"...you don't know the half of being a cold-hearted vampire, because you're not. You're you." Her hand traced my chest, and I suddenly felt pressure from my hand, and I saw...

...Snow?

She...she pushed me out the window?! WTF!

I sat up in the snow, my hair tousled with cold white flakes.

Courtney giggled and shut her window, her voice still hearable as she spoke louder.

"Good siku to you, Duncan!" She giggled and I shook my hair free of snow.

"What the hell was that about?"

She didn't answer. Instead, she giggled and walked away from the window. I got up, and made my way back home.
