The night was cool and dark. wewe can’t even see three feet in front of you. It is a good thing I want them to see me. Otherwise I would have fell over a hundred times because of those stupid mti roots. And above all I have the worst possible luck because my flashlight is dying. It flickered once twice three times and I am now left in the dark. I threw aside my disappointing flashlight and picked a good mti and started to climb.

I was almost half way up the mti shina when I heard barking. Is that a dog? Then I saw a blinding light in the darkness. Then I heard them two voices having an argument about what is the best way to find me. good the players have arrived. But inayofuata to the one on the right was I big massive pit-bull. He was growing at anything that moved. Luckily they had no idea I was right above their heads. I mean really they have no reason to think I would be in a bila mpangilio mti in the woods. So my hiding spot was prefect. But if Emma made one sound that dog would probably attack her. I had to get rid of that dog.

Then an idea hit me I remembered that one mwaka I went to a summer camp and learned how to make this really cool and realistic birdcall. I mean I was the best in our group and the birds acutely respond to it. I cupped my hands over my mouth and blew moving my hands in a motion witch caused the sound to become a spooky call I heard once tonight. I waited and I heard bonehead number one ask bonehead number two if he heard that. “Get a grip boy don’t go all scary cat on me.” * ok, ok I was probably nothing anyway.* Then I heard the birds take up my call and the dog went nuts. Pulling bonehead number one far away with him.

With him out of hearing rage I started to chuckle this could be really fun messing with these guys. I wish I had my camera. “Who’s there demanded bonehead number two.” I shut my mouth and stayed perfectly still. “I know wewe are there Alex come on be a good girl and come out.” I snorted what if I don’t want to be a good girl.“Where are you? He shouted for me.” ohh anywhere and everywhere. I taunted. He was searching everywhere high and low but he already past me plus he provably wouldn’t be able to see me this high up in the dark. Then I heard something songesha and with a scream of agony he feel to ground. Nice one I called to Emma. I slid down the tree. Then out of the darkness something au shall I say someone grabbed Emma. I ran to her. No please don’t hurt her! I came to a stop when I saw her arm bending in a angle that it was not subpost to be in her taser was smashed to pieces. My hand went to my mouth her attacker was no where to be seen. She was crying in pain I could tell she was trying not to scream bloody murder. My fear and disbelief turned into anger and hatred. My body was shaking with rage. No one hurts my friend and gets away with it. My eyes narrowed. The sound of a snapping twig got my attention. I turned I don’t know what came over me then. But as the man who did this to my friend pounced on me. A blinding golden light flew out of my palm and blasted him away. He was flown back so far I don’t know where he landed. I looked at my palm then wondering how in the world that happened. Then I saw it.

On my hand was a sun that was glowing red and yellow. I realized that symbol and then I knew how I just blasted that guy. No was all I could think this can’t be happening I didn’t want this why me of all people. “Alex how did…. Your … glowing …you’re the”I cut her off finishing her sentence. The chosen one au the keeper of the forbidden light that only one person can control light au anything that something to do with it. How do wewe know that? she asked only someone that was from here… My father I closed my eyes a uchungu, chungu sweet memory popped in to my mind of my dad telling me a story about a girl saving magical creatures and forces of light from the dark one. Now I know he was telling me my destiny and not just a kitanda time story.

Just then I heard that dog again my eyes flew open. I turned to see it growing at me. Not now flea bag my hand started to tingle. I passed my hand over the dog. I can sense magic over the dog. I smiled oh how sweet a shape shifter decided to stop by. He chose that moment to change back to true form. And not going to lie he chakula cha jioni, karamu hot guy. He had shaggy black hair and deep brown eyes. it was to dark to tell what he was wearing. Who are wewe and I will know if wewe lie so don’t try. That’s Kyle Jason’s partner. What else have wewe kept from me Emma? I turned my attention back to her. And my face softened what did that jerk do to you? I walked over and Kyle tried to stop me. I was already mad form the guy who did this to Emma so when he tried to touch my arm I burned him without much thought. He yelped and stumbled back. Nice try but wewe touch me again wewe get fried got it beast boy. She is my friend I am not going to hurt her. I bent down on my knee’s trust me.

I closed my eyes and felt the light of the sun a gentle fame spreading the warmth from me to Emma. Her arm strained and she sighed in relief. “How did wewe do that and who are wewe the guy demanded.” I shook my head why do wewe look so surprised wewe were a dog not two dakika zamani and your asking me how what I just did was possible. I looked at him then. Get a grip beast boy. I am Alex Montezz I held out my hand to him. Jason’s sister. Your Jason’s sweet and innocent little sister he alisema with his eye borrows raised. My face hardened it’s been a long time sense he has seen me I changed hard not to with everything I been through. I am not the defenseless little girl that needed a hero. I helped Emma up. I pulled out the tracker out of my bag. Come on we need to get moving before group number two gets here.

I started off and they followed me through the woods. The rest of the night went kwa quickly. The sun was coming up. It’s almost dawn the sun will be up in. I tilted my head to the side. About two hours. “How do wewe know that asked Kyle?” Because the sun is the chanzo of my power. I stopped and looked at him. I rolled my eyes wewe haven’t put it together yet. I smiled and held out my hand palm up inaonyesha the sun tattoo. “So wewe have a tattoo he said.” I took a deep breath and the power of the sun ran through my body heating me in the chill air. And then I felt that heat up my hand and knew it was glowing red again. He stumbled back in surprise. Relax I am not going to blast you. “Well wewe did last night.” I just escaped from a mad man and was getting chased kwa his goons and wewe changed from there dog to a guy who looked like he was going to straggle me and Emma has just been hurt. What did wewe actpect me to do give ya a hug. I didn’t know wewe how was I subpost to know wewe were Marafiki with Emma. And worked with a brother.

“Alex calm down alisema Emma.” I am perfectly calm. “Could have fooled me I thought wewe were upset but that is just me.” alisema Kyle. Ha ha every one is a comedian. Emma when were wewe going to tell me? I asked she knew what I was talking about she knew me better than anyone. “I wanted to but I ….” Couldn’t I told wewe everything Emma. wewe know how much he means to me and kept that from me. I shook my head I couldn’t believe this. Tears in my eyes. “She couldn’t cause she promised Jason she wouldn’t if she met you.” Why would he ask that? “Because he didn’t want wewe to be in danger he didn’t want to bring wewe in to this.” “Now that Blake found wewe it kinda too late for that” Kyle responded sadly and with a little bitterness toward Blake. don’t blame him.

I blinked back tears as we walked on I was the lead. Emma was talking to Kyle in the back talking to quietly for me to hear. The sun was starting to rise and I felt much better in the light of day. Guys look that’s the end of the forest I alisema happily we all ran out of the undergrowth and what I saw inayofuata took my breath way. Emma what is this place? I knew my eyes were wide. Kyle chuckled at my reaction “takes wewe breath away everytime.” “This is worth fighting for a place full of peace and love.” “No worries just happiness. At least that is how it was before Blake showed up.”

What I looked out before was the most beautiful place I ever seen. Stretched out before me were rolling hills of green. wanyama I only seen in vitabu and fairy tales were every where. Flowers of every color had vichimbakazi on them. A nice blue sky with three suns? Rising in the early morning. Beyond the hills was a huge ngome beyond huge mountains behind it. I can’t even put it in words of this breath taking sight before me. To my left I hear Kyle say

Chapter 5
    Let’s get started
We were standing in front of a big boat, but it wasn’t the one Dorothy visited, I knew that for sure. We were at the docks, were a lot of boats are at, I’m surprised there’s so many. But as I inspect all of them, none of them were the one I hoped.
The mashua smelled like a ton of fish, and on the corner I could just make out a small pile of dead fish, whoever owned this mashua must be careless.

Tears were rolling down my face. My moyo hurt, and my thoughts were scrambled.
It was a siku that reflected my emotions. The clouds covered the sky completely and were threatening to rain, the wind was howling and my family was being ripped apart.

My parents were both suicidal, and were always having what they call “accidents”. One week, I found my mother cutting her wrists in the bathroom. Her blood was puddling on the floor, and she was crying. I called her therapist, who talked her out of it. Again. My father was no better. He tried to thrown himself out the third story window of our...

I flinched before he hit me I could already feel the nails from the ukanda on my skin exactly where he'd hit before he really did. He hit that same spot at least five times—it was right above my butt bone.

I cried out in pain as he went up and down my spinal cord with the ukanda he moved it to my arms that clinged to the juu of the heater. Tears poured out of my eyes "Dad stop please dad!!" He whipped me harder saying "What did I tell wewe all about calling me Dad I'm your master wewe little runt!!" he changed to the other arm and and gave me a fine blow to the left jaw bone I fell on my back...

Chapter 4

Juliet quieted. It was apparent that she was too weak to break the grip, and if this person really was friendly, fighting and screaming would only complicate matters. After a dakika of her staying limp in the person’s grip, he let her go. She took a deep breath to steady her nerves and twisted around to see who it was. She couldn’t contain herself.
“Steve, wewe bastard! What the hell!”
“Quiet! They’ll hear you,” he whispered frantically.
“Wait, so this is…real?”
Steve looked down. “Sorry, but yes, it’s real.”
Juliet clapped her hands to her mouth. “It can’t...

I backed up slowly, not wanting the she mbwa mwitu to feel threatened and attack. “Nice wolf, I'm not going to hurt you.” I got up off the ground with my hands out, facing the wolf. She had white fur, manyoya with a small gray nyota on her chest. Climbing off the small kilima she had been standing on, she began walking towards me. I stood still. If I ran, she would pin me down and attack; and if I stood here there was no telling what she might do. “Please don't kill me. I didn't want to be brought here.” She was circling me and sniffing. Suddenly, she stopped. “I can smell his blood.” Her voice was...

We were anxious to find out what was going on with the Jew. The Saumensch and I walked out and onto the streets, apart at a distance, careful of any danger around us. As we walked over onto Pariser Platz, we saw that there was a public execution today. A couple of Nazis were gathered around a feeble man, short and skinny, who appeared to be a Jew. The Saumensch and I stepped closer, seeing that it wasn't our Jew, but only to be halted kwa one of the Nazis on command. "HALT! What brings wewe here?" I answered calmly, "We've just come kwa to greet wewe fine men. Heil Hitler." The Nazi nodded briefly,...

“I could ask wewe the same thing,” America majibu crossing her arms and giving me a pointed look. “Zyanna.”

Chapter One

The sudden death of Abigail Dalton casted a spell on the quiet town of Brunswick, Georgia. Everyone felt utterly dismal as they watched the reporter give the gruesome details. It happened so suddenly and out the blue. Who could have ever killed the sweet 17 mwaka old girl that made even the grumpiest of men smile at her beauty and charm. It was true that she was beloved kwa her peers, family, and community. Who would kill her? Well, believe it au not but there were some people who thought she was arrogant, stubborn, vain, and unintelligent. All of those maoni may be true...

I hold tears back...
The thought of such a close friend
Leaving you
Is horrible.

It feels like life is over,
Like...there's no point in living anymore,
If your best friend is gone,
There's no one to keep the warmth
With wewe anymore.

What's the point of life
If wewe don't have any friends
To share it with?
It's all over,
All of it.

No one's coming to calm me down,
And I'm not going to let them either.
I want to remember my closest friend...
But it's not easy,
If wewe have to leave them.

She will always be in my heart
She was an amazing friend to me,
She brought me so much joy
And happiness,
Even in the darkest of nights,...

Like I said, it was a dark and foggy night. I thought my eyes were deceiving me. I think I saw a Jew. This time around, there are practically no Jews. They are either in concentration camps- awaiting their death, au dead already. The Nazis are not being easy with the Jews. This Jew was covered with a black cloth, and he appeared to be standing over a cowering boy, twelve years old of age at least. I moved in closer, cautiously, with my Saumensch, and we were both suspicious. The Saumensch's eyes met mine. "Is that...a murder, Carls?" Matna, the Saumensch, was definitely suspicious. She never...

I was brave and strong
And now I survived.

At first I was worried to death,
When the doctor alisema that I had cancer.
I stayed strong
Cuz I knew that my family and Marafiki
Would care for me,
And spread the word
So I would survive.

My Marafiki and I
Were always supportive of me,
And we could talk for hours,
Playing on our DSes,
Talking about Legos
Like great Marafiki ever should.

Later, I was cancer-free
And I celebrated
We did everything great
It helped me cheer up.

Chapter 3

Juliet muffled her scream as she saw what was standing on the other side of the door. It was Phil, but not any Phil she had ever seen. Phil’s skin was black and bubbling, steam was being emitted from what used to be his skin, his pupils were gone, and he was giving off an awful odor, even worse than the cigarettes. He wasn’t looking her way so she dived behind the bar. “Oh my god, oh my god, OH MY GOD!” She clamped her mouth shut as her whispering rose to a shout. There was a grunt from the other side of the door and she heard a rattling noise as he beat on the door, trying...

Together, at last,
We sing in unison,
As the eagles zoom past us,
Symbolizing true freedom now.

We are together,
Not just our country,
But all the countries of the universe,
Syria, China, Germany,
Russia, Canada, Brazil,
And, of course, the United States.

I have never experienced
Such an amazing feeling
In my whole life,
As the soldiers of the universe
March past,
We are in utmost glory.

The unity of the universe,
We behold right now.
Never again, we shall quarrel,
Fighting with our steel rifles.

We will be free,
Not just blacks,
But all of us,
Together, at last.

We will be equal,
Women and men,
And we shall work together,...

We are going separate ways.
We must leave each other,
Though I regret it,
There is nothing either of us
Can do.

We are going separate ways.
The bright light shines in our futures,
For the separate ways we go
Are the best for each of us.

We must leave for the good of it,
Though I don't want to,
And I know wewe don't either.
But it is important that we do.

It is never easy
Doing what we do the worst,
Leaving each other,
And the thoughts that we are...
Best friends...leaving each other...

We must go our separate ways.
For our own good.
And we pray that one day...
We will meet each other again.
And we will.
Jake Gartner here. For some reason, something kept those mutant serpents away from us. Chase Johnson, my friend, is over here with me at the maktaba of Death. Yeah. Bad name for a library, if wewe ask me. I would never have come here in the first place, had no one ever bothered me with a ransom note about my mother dying if I didn't go on this life-or-death journey. (Sorry, I have to speed the story up now. Chase says I'm getting all the attention.) So, what we found out at the library. Not much. All we found out was that mutant serpents tend to be very huge, have sharp teeth, and stay away...

On a starry sky
In the moonlight
At midnight
When I think of you
My moyo beats faster
For there is no one like you
Who makes my siku perfect
Make my body to go numb
Lose myself
And forever hold that smile on my face

Its true that we are
Now on our separate ways
With the promises aside
That we'll meet again
For again might also mean
The inayofuata moment
au maybe never

wewe may songesha on
Find your perfect princess
In this imperfect world
But to me
You'll always be
My prince charming

And thus the swali remains
Should I songesha on?
Should I forget?
Is this the destiny of my life?
Only time will tell
But until then
You'll hold a fragment of my soul
For my mind wants to songesha on
But my moyo stays persistent
That you'll one siku turn unto me
