“So we will not speak of au mention the unspeakable event that took place last night,” Darren told us, looking like a stern teacher reprimanding his class.
“For the hundredth time yes!” Edith shrieked.
The sad part was that she wasn’t exaggerating.
We were all on edge, super tension ran from the air, we had left the park with a dispirited mood. Not because of the stupid stone. Iris was supposed to call us when she got home, but the call never came so we called Stilere who told us they drove a bit zaidi but she dropped Iris out a while ago. A number one sign she was still angry at us, and early in the morning Iris took a kiti, kiti cha at the back of the class, inayofuata to a window, staring blankly at it for the whole period.
She didn’t look us in the eye, she never even looked our way. She seemed, exhausted, tired and worst of all drained. She didn’t even try to talk to the kids around her, like she usually would have.
It was lunchtime and we were all sitting at our table, waiting for a girl who probably wouldn’t onyesha up. It’s been about a few minutes, but the cafeteria was a deadly place, she must be stuck in the rampaging pushing and shoving of the fellow hungry students.
“Okay so-”
“DARREN! SHUT UP!”
We weren’t getting any better.
Iris
“What are wewe doing here?”
I turned and inwardly sighed when I saw Alex come towards me, I didn’t want to talk to him au the rest of them at the moment.
“Sitting. Alone, until wewe came and ruined it.” I said, turning back to stare at the beautiful sky.
“Iris-”
“I don’t want to hear it, I don’t care what wewe have to say. No excuse could fix this Alex!” I yelled, feeling some steam come off. “I told wewe it was a bad idea, but no, wewe just had to play hero and ditch me. If Mikey hadn’t pushed me away…”
‘Then I would’ve become the sekunde victim of that park’ I wanted to say, the unspoken words lay heavily in the air, creating a bridge between us.
“I didn’t-”
“Yes wewe did, wewe just didn’t care, wewe had to figure out something that will probably be a mystery forever, were not the ‘ancient race’, we can’t understand their concepts like we do for ours. It’s a whole new world-”
‘A thrilling place I never knew,” he whispered.
I glared at him. “That we know nothing about, not even Aladin either genius.”
Alex flashed me a smile. “Sorry I can’t help it. Instinct. And it’s your fault for rerunning that part every single time.”
I rolled my eyes. “I liked it.”
“I’m really really really really really really sorry Iris, I shouldn’t have shunned you, I should’ve listened.”
“Too late for that,” I whispered, turning my gaze back to the sky.
Alex sighed. “Just sit with us at lunch, okay? Edith is about to kill Darren if he opens his mouth again. We upendo you. We miss you. Please?”
“Fine! But don’t think I’m going to try to make any conversation, I’m still really steamed off about this.” I say, standing up.
Alex grinned, hugging me, and he lead me toward the table, which was far far away.
How did he even know I was here?

Ya tell me,
Don't dance, don't dance,
Just stay inside and never go out
And scold me
All siku long, all siku long
What makes wewe think you're so damn awesome?
Don't ya know we have a life too, too?
We'd be sittin in watching TV
And I don't think wewe want that either
So what the heck can we do?
We're not just mindless robots with nothing else to do
We don't have time for homework
We just wanna have fun, fun, fun
We have a life, no time for homework
We can go ahead and play flag football
But I'm not goin inside
Why do wewe act like
There's nothin else better than
Doin homework all night long
I bet wewe never liked that when wewe were young
We've been playin outside
Now it's time to kick in and relax
No zaidi time for homework, just sit back and do the things I upendo to do
Cuz I gotta enjoy my life when I'm young.
Don't dance, don't dance,
