Chapter 1

It was hundreds of years after Kara's transformation, but she was still a plant-human hybrid. For the years before this day, she was shown as an abomination of nature. In short, people poked, prodded, and threw things at Kara.

However, this siku would turn out different...

Jeremy was a sixteen mwaka old boy with black hair, brown eyes, and a smile that warm up even the most frozen heart. His father bought the mansion and garden for Jeremy as he was studying botany in college.

"I finally can have my own mansion and garden" Jeremy thought as he was driving down to his new mansion.

When Jeremy arrived at his new mansion, it felt...empty. Like no one had been there for years.

"Hello?" Jeremy asked as his voice echoed through the mansion. There was no immediate response, so Jeremy went inside.

The mansion was very large, but very unnerving. There were cobwebs all over the place, and every time wewe entered a new room, it felt like someone was watching you.

"Uh...I guess I should go to the garden now..." Jeremy thought to himself as he was clearly creeped out kwa the old mansion.

Jeremy descended to the garden, his steps making small echoes. When Jeremy opened the door to the garden, a cry was heard.

"Huh?! What was that?!" Jeremy thought to himself as he walked to where the screams came from.

Suddenly, Jeremy tripped on a long vine.

"GAH!" Jeremy cried as he fell flat on his butt, "Yikes...that was embarrassing".

"Embarrassing? wewe don't even know the half of it..." A voice snidely told Jeremy.

"Well it was...a little..." Jeremy blushed a little.

"Well don't come any closer" The voice commanded Jeremy.

"Why not?" Jeremy asked.

"Because!" The voice responded.

"Because why?" Jeremy responded again as he walked towards where the voice was coming from. He then suddenly stopped.

"Hello" Kara greeted Jeremy.

Trudging along behind his group, Talow scuffed his worn boots against the packed trail leading away from his home. He had been aliyopewa a uniform, a flame gun and a sharp looking sword of his own; including a brief crash test on how to use them. He was at the back of the line, followed only kwa the line of prisoners taken captive kwa the troops.
“I am so sorry, I didn't expect them to do that.” Talow alisema to one man at the front of the captive line. He was referring to earlier in the siku when the prisoners had asked to stop and rest, they had been greeted with the captain of the troop ordering...

The first rays of sun beat down on the scarred land, baking and scorching the already dry soil. Small clumps of crops grew here and there where there was enough to hold onto. From the small village, a scrawny rooster could be heard announcing the morning as people left the shelter of their huts, thanking whoever had let them survive another night.

Talow was like any other fifteen mwaka old that was still alive and not recruited. He worked on the farm, if wewe could call it that, picking the weeds and making sure the village would have food. Shoving himself off the thin blankets, Talow got ready...

Chapter One - Being Average

I thought today was going to be a cloudy, grey day. It would match my mood, but, as usual, it was sunny and blue. For one day, can it not be so perfect and beautiful. I am positive that the weather truly despises me. Everyone despises me.

Except for my best friend, Carlie. She must be the only one besides my mom who loves me and cares for me. She has been with me since I moved out here in Georgia. She must be the only one who can imagine what I'm going through. We both Lost our mothers....

After Tiffany finished her story and all the others had, besides James. He sat there. Silently. "I'm sorry." he whispered, Angus put his hand on James' shoulder "It's not your fault, he chose to go, wewe couldn't have stopped it even if wewe were there, he wouldn't have let you." he said. James didnt reply. He just stared up at his brother and finally he couldn't hold back the tears, Angus was right, which only made James feel worse. There was this one summer I spent with my cousins, back when I was fourteen. My little sister, Claire, went to their house with me.
That first day, when we jumped out of the van, we were stunned. The house was this glorious, leaning, peeling, giant nyumbani on a winding dirt road. The paint was a soft baby blue, something that reminded me of rocking farasi and winter nights. Our Auntie Leila stepped onto the rickety porch and waved and smiled. Cautiously, Claire and I waved and smiled back. Uncle Jeb came to give us hugs. We returned the hugs without complaining....

    Here my roar!
I couldn’t stop gushing over the fact that Ryler kissed me! He kissed me! Best siku ever! And I just couldn’t wait for our date, and Ryler wouldn’t be telling me anything, but it was pretty clear Adam knew. He’d always give me this secret smile, and wink.
I wonder if I was obvious with my crush with Ryler, au if Ryler told Adam from the beginning, au just told him. All in all, I’m relieved there’s no ‘touch my sister and die’, everything seems normal....

The muziki blared loudly, and I could still hear it with my hands covering my ears. The other high school students skipped and ran through the dark woods at midnight on their way to a deserted log cabin, kibanda in the middle of nowhere. I rolled my eyes (like all high schoolers do,) at the others, drunk and incoherent.
I could barely see two feet in front of me, when I banged into a firm wooden door. I stumbled backwards as I cursed under my breath and rubbed my forehead. I then succeeded in opening the door and getting in the cabin. It was warm and cozy, with no party energy whatsoever...yet. I regretted...
