She is the guitarist from the late 70's all girl punk group the runaways(born to be bad,blackmail,cherrybomb).
She went on to solo career, and started a record label called blackheart records. later she hired a backup band and released an album under the name joan jett and blackhearts(i upendo rock n' roll,bad reputation,shout).
also the maarufu hair metal vixen lita ford (kiss me deadly,close my eyes forever) was the lead singer and lead guitar, gitaa player for the runaways.
