I was finishing up the spaghetti, tambi when a loud crash echoed from the front room. I couldn't see what it was. I was about to get up, to check it out, when Edward strolled in and sat inayofuata to me. I stuffed the remaining amount of spaghetti, tambi in my mouth, watching him. He grabbed my plate and headed for the kitchen. I followed. I had some maswali for him.
"What was that noise I heard?"
"I threw something down the stairs. I was angry, but I have something for you."
That took me kwa surprise.
"For me?"
I doubted it could be better than the present he'd already aliyopewa me. How could any present beat him? He was the best gift in the world.
"Yes, a present. Do wewe have any aversion to expensive gifts?"
This confused me.
"Depends. If the gift is jewelry au something small, than no, but if it's a car, au something big, than yes."
"Well then, you'll like this present."
"When can I have it?" I was curious. What could he be giving me?
"Now,"he answered instantly. He reached into the left front pocket of his faded blue jeans. I stared at the opened hand. How is that expensive? And his ex just gave that back, I don't want to wear something that she did, unless it was a really important thing to him.
"Yes, it was my mother's, she gave it to me before she died."
That shocked me. That's why. If he was giving me something that was his mothers' than he truly loved me. I already knew how I felt about him.
"How is it expensive?"
"It's actually a diamond, about 5 karots."
My eyes bugged. And it was expensive, so I wanted him. I wanted something, I promised I would never allow this to happen, I mean, sure I dated tons of guys, I had experience, but I was still a virgin. I broke up with most of those guys for that reason. They wanted sex, I didn't. But I want to get married to Edward, he's the one that was made for me and I was made for him. I loved him, that was all that mattered.
"And wewe want to give it to me?"
"Of course, I upendo you."
"As do, so I will never take it off."
I jetted for the stairs, I would need to explain this right, I had the perfect thing for the heart, and that would be how I alisema what needed to be said. I loved him, he loved me, and he was the only guy to mean what he said.
I zipped open my suitcase, digging around to the bottom, and finding what I was looking for.
"I've had this for a long time now. My mom gave this to me about 10 years ago, before she was a druggie. It was my 10th birthday."
I tugged the red velvet lid off and pulled out a thick, silver chain out. On the chain were two charms. A shoe and a duck. My mom loved shopping and my dad loved ducks.
"I got two charms, one representing my dad and one for my mom. They remind me of what a happy family I used to have. So I want to add your charm, because I want to add wewe to my happy family."
The words flowed smoothly from my lips. I knew exactly what had came out and how it sounded. And most of all, I knew it was what I wanted.
"Are wewe proposing to me,"he asked. His eyes unfocused.
"Only if wewe want it to be,"I answered honestly.
If he truly cared about me, and I knew he did, he would say it was.
But I would wait for him to say it.
