 Nessie in the rain
Nessie in the rain
My eyes flutter open and I see Jake kneeling beside me. His face is crossed with worry.

"Nessie, can wewe hear me?" He says gently as he strokes my face. I feel a sudden pain on the back of my head.

"Ow.." I muster. I must have hit my head when I passed out. Normally I would not have felt that but I guess all that has changed.

Jake lifts me off the floor and carries me to the couch. He sets me down and leans in and kisses my forehead.

He starts to walk away, but I reach for his arm just in time to brush it lightly. "Wait," I say as he turns around. "where are wewe going?" I ask once his body is fully facing me.

"I have to go out with the pack."

"But wewe can't go!" I nearly shout. "I thought we already went over this." I try to hush my voice, since there are people right outside the door.

"I have to Nessie." He says sternly. At this he walks out of the room and out the front door.

I feel like a child that has just been scolded kwa a parent, but in this case he is not my parent, but my husband.

I stare at the door for sometime before getting off the couch. My stomach churns as I stand up, but I force my self to kumeza it down and keep walking. The house is too hot for me when I feel like this, so I walk towards the window in the kitchen, and open it. The cool breeze feels wonderful against my heated skin, filling me with a little solemnity.

The wind begins to pick up and soon little pine needles are shoving their way up into the crevice of the window. I crave zaidi of the wind, and I open the front door, stepping out side onto the front porch.

Now the wind is extra hard, and I can feel that it is blowing my hair in every direction. I walk out farther, so that the roof is no longer covering me. I begin to feel little drops of water hitting my skin. I watch the rain fall for some time, feeling my clothes, and my hair soak. But I don't care. The feeling is like a sort of freedom for me. My eyes close and I life my arms into the air, feeling the drops splash onto my palms. It is now just me and the rain.

I walk down the two steps and onto the dirt driveway below. Puddles have started forming, and the mud is starting to wash down the street. I lift my arms higher and begin to spin in circles, like in the movies, my own little dream world around me. My surroundings entice me, and I begin to smile at the pure joy that has become me.

I open my eyes, and look at the wet world around me. They stop on a figure standing on the other side of the street. I squint my eyes, trying to prevent the rain from getting in them as I look at the figure. It must be a man kwa its stature, and its body has a delicate hunch.

"Hello." I shout to the man. His body does not songesha an inch, like he is set in stone.

"I'm Rennesme Black. Is there something I can help wewe with?" I try again to catch his attention, but he still ignores me.

I begin to walk back towards the house, but when I turn back to look at him again, he is gone. Frightened I dart back towards the house. When I get inside, I slam the door behind me. Gasping for breath, I lean against the wall.

Could this man be the inayofuata step into my dream? Am I getting closer and closer to the end? I suddenly jerk up and run the phone in the kitchen. I dial Jake's cell number but shortly after, hear it ringing up stairs.

"Crap." I say hurriedly as I hang up the phone. There is no way of warning him unless I can get to him before they do.

Without thinking I grab the key's to the car and dash out the front door. I jump in the car and pull out of the driveway.

It is still raining like crazy, as I drive quickly down the street. My moyo pounds in my chest as I try to calm my self down. i soon come up to the trail, and I jump out of the car. I run down into the woods towards where they meet usually. The wind blows hard against me as I run. I try to songesha as fast as I can without vomiting. My temples throb when I try to pick up speed. Now that I have basically no vampire left, I only have a little of my speed left.

The rain begins to pour harder and harder, as if it is trying to put me at a standstill altogether.

"Can't wewe give me just a little break?" I yell up at the clouds.

I finally can't control it anymore, and I vomit on the side of the trail. I begin to sob as I try to pick up my pace again, my moyo sinking in my chest, my energy running to an absolute zero. But as I start to go again, I hear a yell off in the distance. I begin to run faster just as another yelp echoes through the forest. I close in on the area just in time to collapse from my lack of energy. I try to stand up but fail. I begin to hyperventilate as I sink back into the muddy ground. I can't even get up the strength to save my own husband from my nightmares.

I begin to not be able to breath at all, and as I gasp for breath, I hear sudden growls from just beyond the trees, and know that someone has come to get Jake.

My head pounds and I droop to the ground knowing that it is over for me. At least my body decided to stop functioning when there was no real hope for my family now anyways.

I feel the mud begin to seep into my hair and clothes. My breath still not coming to me, I begin to loose my sight and awareness of the world. But just when I am ready to die here on the forest floor, someone grabs my now cold body from the ground. I try to open my eyes, to breath, but I am too weak.

"She's not breathing." I hear voices around me. Quietly fading in and out.

"Jacob, hows your arm?" I recognize my Grandfathers voice.

"It's starting to heal. And so is my shin. Everything else is fine now." I hear his voice and feel a sudden rush of relief flood through me.

I suddenly gasp in a breath. I feel a throbbing pain in my throat and lungs, but feel happy knowing that I can breathe again.

"She's breathing." I hear Jake say with relief. I feel his warm hand on my face, and know that the color is rushing back to my face.

"She's not as pale, and her pulse is evening out." My grandfather murmurs to him self.

A sudden thought occurs to me, and I get enough motivation to speak.

"Is the baby okay?" I ask quietly. I hear silent sighs of happiness as I speak.

"Nessie." Jacob says lightly, as he strokes my face. My eyes flutter open as his touch. "I thought I had Lost you." He continues.

I look directly into his eyes and then ask with urgency, "But is the baby okay?"

"The baby is fine," He says as he smiles sweetly. "It's fine."

I sigh lightly with this new information.

"Nessie, your far enough along that we could find out what the baby's gender is if wewe want." Grandpa Carlisle contributes.

"Really?" I smile as I look up at him. He smiles in return, and when I look to Jake to see what he thinks I know instantly that this is something important to both of us.

"I want to know." Finally say as I look back towards Grandpa Carlisle.

"Grandpa Carlisle? How many months pregnant am I?" I must at least be three months, if I am zaidi than that, I don't know how I could be that stupid as not to figure it out.

"Your coming upon your fourth month." Wow, I think to my self, I really am that stupid.

"Are wewe ready?" Grandpa Carlisle suddenly interrupts my thoughts.

"Yes, zaidi than ever." I say as I look at Jacob smiling beside me.
