The inayofuata thing I knew, I was awake. A kiss on my lips brought me to the now, and as my eyes opened, I saw Jerek's familiar face looking down into mine. Like a person in awe, he smiled.
"What?" I asked, and I felt a line being traced over my arm.
"Nothing." He kissed me again, and sat up. "It's time to get up."
"Yesterday went kwa fast." I sat up to, holding the covers to my chest.
"It sure did." Jerek agreed, and I looked at him.
"Are wewe okay?" I asked.
"Yes. Just fine." He leaned in for a kiss, and I didn't deny.
"Well, I'm very hungry, so I'll take a quick shower." I looked over his shoulder and saw it was only eight a.m.
"I'll fix wewe breakfast." He said, and I smiled.
"Thanks." Jerek got out of bed, bent over to grab his underwear and pajama pants that were hanging from his closet door, slipped them on quickly, and tied the strings into a knot around his west.
He left the room, closing the door behind him. I took this as an advantage, and jumped out of bed, grabbing my clothes and heading to the bathroom to wash up. Not only was I wanting a good meal, I was enjoying the hot water running against my skin, I didn't want to leave. But, I forced myself to, as the thought of chakula made my mouth water. I got out, dried off, got dressed, fixed my hair, and walked out of the bathroom, jumping onto the kitanda just as Jerek walked back into the room, and my mouth really started watering then. Not from the food, but because Jerek was shirtless, and that was such a sight to see. CYD! I pulled myself out of the haze, and fixed onto the two plates of pancakes, the two little cups of syrup and two cups of water on the tray Jerek was serving me.
"This looks delicious." I said, and he laughed.
"Don't thank me, thank Shropee." Jerek set the tray down, and I started cutting the pancakes.
"She's up?" I asked, surprised.
"Recipe." He corrected, and I nodded as I poured the syrup all over the little bits of pancake I just cut up.
Jerek started cutting his up too, and we started eating.
"About last night..." He began, and I felt my cheeks hotten.
"I have a feeling I'll get all blushy." I said, and he nodded.
"You already are, which is why I'm going to continue." Jerek smiled, and stuck his fork into a piece pancake. "I have to say-"
"You won't finish that sentence?" I asked.
"No. I have to say it was...the best I ever had." He said, and I started cracking up laughing.
"Okay, about last night, that was great - it was amazing, but it wasn't the best wewe ever had. Trust me."
"It was." He repeated.
I stopped laughing. "You're serious aren't you?"
He nodded.
"Oh. Well, then...sorry about the laughter. Well, thank you."
We ate in silence for a few zaidi seconds.
"Easy on the praise!" He said, and I almost spit out the pancake I just put in my mouth.
"What?" I asked.
"Well I maoni you, I thought you'd maoni me."
"Oh. Well...you're my..furrr." I said, and took a drink of water.
"What?" He looked at me as if he was deciphering a cryptic message.
"My first." I spat. "You are my first."
"Oh." He smiled, and my cheeks flared into the state of almost sizzeling.
"Well, I'm glad I am." He took a bite of his breakfast, and I did too.
"Please change the subject." I pleaded, and he nodded.
"Alright, alright. Uhh...I was thinking about after this, showering, and then checking on Verona, then seeing what's up with Tabra and the gang, and then come back here later tonight to where I fall asleep kwa the girl I love." Jerek alisema quickly, and I smiled.
"Well, I got my kuoga down, so after this, I was going to go talk to Tabra."
"About?" He asked.
"Nothing important." I lied, and he nodded.
Once we finished our breakfast, Jerek kissed me, and his lips tasted like syrup, and I got up to go talk to Tabra, taking the tray to the jikoni to where I let the dishes slip into soapy warm water. Tabra was at the jikoni table, eating cereal.
"Hi." I said, leaning against the ukuta behind me, crossing my arms across my chest.
"Morning." He waved.
"Well," I said, and looked around. "You were right."
"So, Jerek is the first one to take a poke?" He asked.
"SHUT up!" I hissed, lowering my voice after I saw Tabra's reaction when I alisema 'shut'.
"Sorry." He swallowed his food. "So, he was the first?"
"Yes." I said, and looked down at my sock covered feet.
"Well, okay." He continued eating.
"Well, aren't wewe just going OOOO inside?" I asked, and he shook his head no. "Aren't wewe curious at all about what it was like?"
"Unless wewe bumped your head, I am a man. I don't do the braiding of the hair, au the gossip talk, au the coating of the nails in different shades of variuos colors. I have a wife, and it's different for me to experiance my losing of the virginity. Unless I have long hair, big boobs, a scrawny waist, and a smile covered in a red shaded lipstick with eyeliner coating the eyelashes, I won't have this conversation with you."
"Fine." This was awkward. "So, can I ask a personal question?"
"Sure." He took a drink of water, and started eating again.
"When are wewe going back nyumbani to Olivia?" I asked, and he looked down at the table, frozen in place. He didn't move, blink, twitch, au anything. He just stayed in place.
I think I turned him to statue.
