I do generally prefer GameStop to other outlets, since the employees have at least played a video game (of any kind - I'm not picky!) in the last five years.

Although I'm a little sore with them at the moment. They hire a lot of sexist rejects in that store. I frequently go shopping with a male friend of mine and it never fails: We walk into GameStop and the stupid a$$ behind the counter goes, "Can I help you... Sir?" and ignores me completely. If it's done subtly enough, I'll let it slide... but the last time I was there it was very blatant that the guy just assumed that I (shock! gasp! a FEMALE!) could not POSSIBLY be there as a shopper. Which irritated me even MORE so since I WAS the only one interested in buying something there. Jerkface employee! *shakes fist at him*

Ugh. Stupid, dishonest, AND sexist?

I heard a story of a GameStop employee telling a kid's mum that World of Warcraft was a one-time fee!

Really? Because I've never encountered any GameStop employee with that kind of attitude. I'm actually kind of shocked, because I've never been ripped-off by them, either. Ugh... this does NOT make Wal*Mart or Target a better place to buy games, though.

hmmm
When buying Warhawk, I had to go somewhere else to pick something else up quick and asked them to keep the game safe for me, away from other customer's hands. The guy, who was talking about Modern Warfare 2 or God of War 3 or Resistance or whatever to his other nerdy friend, looked over to me with a puzzled face and just said, "Uhh... it should be safe, dude." so I hid it under a bunch of Xbox accessories. That's the worst I've had with them though, but probably because they frequently give out surveys to customers about employee helpfulness >.>
