I will eat the rest raw as long as I get the feeling of being back in time. However, I think this is a difficult poll to answer.

I agree completely with you on all those accounts^ Aholoc, and I do look at accuracy foremost, I think, but I can be flexible and not a total stickler, like you said if I get the real feel I am transported. THEN I look at plot and character relationships~ how deep, how believable, how layered, how interesting...then action, lol. ACTION ACTION ACTION! But none of that will matter to me if something is poorly cast & not written well.

I agree :) It's like there are two sides to it: It can be cool if you get the feeling you're back in time and then the rest wont matter very much... but the show doesn't have to give you that feeling in order to make a good show. A good plot, action and excellent writing can be the ingredients in a great show too. All of them together and you have an awesome show. The reason why I picked the feeling of being back in time as the most important one was that nobody's ever done a thing like this before. There are tons of movies about The Tudors and many shows and movies have something medieval about them... no show but Vikings is about vikings, and the vikings lived before the middle ages began so if I could somehow get the feeling of being back there then it would just be very cool and make the show unique. It's the fact that it's about vikings that makes it special I think... it hasn't really been done before whereas good plots and spot on casts can be found everywhere. But of course the writing and the actors have an impact on whether or not it feels authentic so if I get the feeling of being back in time it's probably because the rest is good.

Mostly the characters because the characters are what made me fall in love with the show
