So when it comes to talking about the best Zelda game out there, two of them usually come to mind. The majority think of Ocarina of Time, and while that is a usual pick, some would say that Link to the Past is the best. And while I like both games, but also like other Zelda games more, it’s clear which one I prefer over the two
Link to the Past follows, who else, Link, as he is called upon kwa Zelda to go on a quest to save Hyrule from being turned into the Dark World where Ganon rules, and must gain the help of the Seven Sages to do so. Being one of the few SNES games that I have played, I actually played this game on Gameboy, and was the first Zelda game I beated. And despite that, it was still a classic game from my childhood, playing it on long car rides on my SP. The game is a lot of fun for me, despite having played 3D Zelda before this one. I was surprised to see guards just come out of nowhere and try to attack Link for no reason. I thought he was a hero, and then remembered he did technically take Zelda away from the castle. Ocarina of Time was fun to explore, but laying Link to the Past made me want to get better. I wanted to get all the weapons to solve puzzles and collect all the moyo pieces. I wanted to help the blacksmiths so that I could get a stronger swords. I wanted to do all that so that I could feel like I was becoming a hero and actually advancing in the game. It was a lot of fun to become overpowered and to use that power on the bosses and watch them explode in satisfying 16-bit glory. One of my inayopendelewa moments in the Zelda franchise is watching the transition from the World of Light to the Dark World. wewe get a hint of it when wewe go to the third dungeon, as Link turns into a rabbit. wewe get a brief moment of the Dark World, until later, wewe arrive at the Dark World, but wewe are prepared this time, wewe got what wewe need, and your real quest is just getting started now as wewe make your way through this bizarre world of monsters and creatures in the hopes of stopping Ganondorf. I am aware that all Zelda games have a lot of stuff like this. Ocarina of Time has wewe going through time, Minish cap, herufi kubwa has wewe changing size, and my personal inayopendelewa is Link to the Past, as wewe go through different worlds entirely and try to change them in your own world. Just something about that really interests me zaidi than anything else.
Link to the Pat is a classic to many and for good reason. It was the first Zelda game on the SNES and was the first to try something new after the first two games. And now Zelda is a constantly changing series of games. They aren’t all winners, but I still admire it regardless. And that is why Link to the Past is a cherished game from my youth
