Hey, Corner of Horror. Remember when this was a series I had over a hundred makala on? Yeah, not really finding much to talk about with this franchise, I felt a long break was the best thing that it needed, and well, after a long break and one movie reviewed this mwaka that was very meh, I think now is to talk about a movie, and this time, to strike while the iron is mildly warm. So who here remembers Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark?

While most children my age were probably growing up kusoma Goosebumps, I was kusoma Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and Goosebumps was the first to get a movie, as well as a TV show… hmm. Well, Scary Stories got it in the end, but let’s talk about the vitabu themselves. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was a trilogy of vitabu that was written in a manner that wasn’t very good. But the designs, the illustrations, that alone was terrifying, that alone made me want to keep kusoma the books, all three of them, and invest in them. The art was so haunting and disturbing, and it gave the vitabu their own identity. And so, when I heard that there was gonna be a movie about it, I groaned. But then, hope came. Hope from the glorious man of the macabre, Guillermo del Toro himself. wewe may know him for work on Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy, and Shape of Water. He didn’t direct this movie, however, just the screenplay. But his work can definitely be seen in this film.
Scary Stories follows a group of four young kids as they enter a haunted house and discover a book once belonged to a girl who has since died. Now the book is uandishi stories that come to life and is killing anyone who entered the home, using disturbing visuals to get to them. So the story is what wewe would expect from a film aimed at a family audience. PG-13 doesn’t really mean anything anymore thanks to superhero films, so the film tries to appeal to an entire family with it’s writing. It kinda feels like a typical spooky Halloween special, but I think that works in the films favor. Like the vitabu it’s based on, it is also very cheesy and tongue in cheek with the writing. And just like the books, the real horror comes from the monsters. The movie only has monsters from the first book, but boy, do they know how to use them. The disturbing tales of all the classics, from Harold the Scarecrow, the Red Spot, The Missing Toe, and others, the movie doesn’t shy away from these haunting monsters. The CGI does look a little off at times, especially with the spiders, which come off as a PS2 cutscene, but all of them are so haunting to look at. They all have a good build up to them, and the pay off is always great. None of these monsters are what wewe would expect, even when looking directly at them. And how they take out the kids is haunting, especially Harold. That kid gets it so bad for a PG-13 film. But he’s a racist, so it’s okay.
The movie is expected to slow it down with the violence, however. Sure, there are some messed up scenes, but the PG-13 rating can only let them do so much. But that’s not a bad thing. When I watch Scary Stories, I get some vibes of Courage the Cowardly Dog if anyone remembers that. The way it uses these haunting creatures and how it all fits into this small town with some decent attempts at humor make it feel like a genuinely decent film aimed at a younger demographic of children who want to get into horror, and that makes me happy. The original vitabu were perfect gateways for kids to get into horror and the movie seems like a great continuation of that. The ending seems to set up a chance for zaidi Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which I really hope it does. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a decent family horror film. Don’t go into this film expecting to be genuinely terrified. wewe may be creeped out, wewe may even be disturbed, but this is a film that only aims to scare kids. And that is just fine. Take care.

Well... This is one hell of a way to make a positive impression for the new year. I want to start doing remakes of some old lists, because hey, some lists have gotten old au my opinions on a few of them have changed completely, so I think now would be a good time to change up my opinions on a few of them and give them a new light. So, with that out of the way, aren't some video game characters the worst ever? Weather these characters are just annoying, crude, au just straight piss wewe off, they are always there. Even in the best video games out there, there's always gotta be that one douchebag...

The Gamecube was such a criminally underrated console, with so many beloved games that are still appreciated to this day. So, with the Gamecube always being a inayopendelewa console of mine, I decided to do a orodha on what I think are the best games on the system. Now, I am not going to include any of the games from my juu ten list, so no Resident Evil 4 au Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, because those two games would obviously make the list, and for good reason. Also, these are all games that only I have played. So, no F Zero GX au Baten Kaitos. Also, these games have to be Gamecube exclusives. It can...
