The sun had set hours ago, the bright, red orb drifting slowly, languidly, below the horizon. Pinks and oranges had covered the sky, the colors mixing and swirling as they hid the blue of daytime and allowed the upinde wa mvua that marked dusk to come, a upinde wa mvua that slowly darkened, eventually plunging into black as night approached. The streets were quiet and deserted. Once au twice, the lights inside the ancient lamp posts that were lined up like tall pillars on the streets flickered, casting an eerie darkness all over.
