Otherwise known as "Reboot: 6P7e1-3". If wewe can figure out those numbers, you're a genius... Anyways, enjoy!
The cycle repeated
As explosions broke in the sky
Eyes closed, she felt the world around her dissolve into duller colors of steel and cement. The windows crashed inwardly, inaonyesha her in jagged glass, and she opened her eyes to the all-too familiar warehouse she’d called nyumbani at one point. She swallowed fearfully as she realized it was exactly the same as before; same room, same outfit, same dream.
All that I needed
Was the one thing I couldn't find
She panicked as she turned a full 360, hoping desperately for a way out, au a new figure in the shadows, but there was nothing, no one. Tears threatened to fall as she made a mad dash down a hallway, her footsteps echoing off the walls and rebounding into her head loudly. The first hallway lead to another, and another, until she was Lost in a maze of darkness, where no moto could help her see. She needed out. She had to leave.
And wewe were there at the turn
Waiting to let me know
One corner after another, right, left, right, then she smiled as a young male figure came into her view. “Eric...” she breathed thankfully.
He turned, and she faltered at the unfamiliar face. “You- you’re not--”
He smiled, but it was insincere, as a spark of red glowed in his crystal blue irises. “Of course I am. Why wouldn’t I be?”
She took a step back, her breath shallow. “No-no, I don’t-”
He reached out and took her forearms in his grasp, digging his nails into her bare arms. Her eyes went wide, and he opened his mouth, staring at her intently, all seriousness. “Everything wewe worked for,” he intoned, “is now what wewe will end.”
She escaped him and ran past for the door, opening it, and stepping into the beginning room once more. A cycle she couldn’t break. Her life on repeat.
We're building it up
To break it back down
We're building it up
To burn it down
We can't wait
To burn it to the ground
Two months later, she finally took to moyo the thing the non-Eric had been saying. The trust she’d built with her team members was gone with a flick of the hand and a spark from her fingers. Two months of a comatose-induced nightmare and her conscious had snapped under the pressure of the simple statement that at first was just a confusing sentence. Her subconscious had merged with the phoenix spirit and kicked into overdrive, shifting her memories. She woke in the infirmary, alight with the flames of her own doing, and thought nothing of it, except that her original purpose had begun. Now she had to finish it.
When wewe fall, I'll take my turn
And shabiki the flames
As your blazes burn
“Fin!”
Aisling fell to her knees, coughing up smoke from the bottom of her lungs, looking up to her once-friend. “Fin, what’s going on?”
Eric lifted his head up to his girlfriend, eyes stinging at the heat radiating from the flames surrounding them all. Mercy couldn’t even manage to hold back the moto at the intensity it was approaching with. Delta was against the wall, struggling to keep Mel awake, and Fang was with Devin in the corner, watching their daughter worriedly. Aisling coughed weakly. “Fin?!”
The firecaster turned, her eyes ablaze, but empty all the same, nothing but the color remained. No sign of life was in them, which shocked Aisling to the point where she was frozen. Eric glanced over. “What?! Aisling, what’s wrong? What is Fin doing?”
Aisling shook her head, looking at the ground. “That’s not... That’s not Fin anymore,” she murmured. She didn’t notice when she fell completely to the ground, nor did she notice when the flames finally surrounded her and darkness enclosed her vision. Anyone in the room was no longer there, even if their bodies were. Even when one moyo still beat, the person who once owned it, was gone.
