I wrote this a while ago, figured wewe guys may (or may not) like to read it. I wrote it as Alek speaking to Tara. Voici!
"We left for freedom. For her freedom. "
"Whisper's?"
"Noëlle's, Whisper's daughter,” he corrected.
The one being told the story was taken aback, "You left because..."
"Whisper was pregnant,” he confirmed in the sort of tone a story teller held when about to relay a very long, very true story, "It was the plan. The entire plan.
“I was raised on knowledge. My father created me so that he could have full responsibility over my upbringing. He made sure that my trials and tests.. didn't kill me. Any damage done to me was repaired with miraculous medicines and serums that were compatible only because of my genome.
“He supplied me with knowledge, vitabu kwa the greatest writers, mathematicians, astrologists. While the other kids were on breaks between sessions, playing in the fenced courtyard, I was studying. Remember Dr. Cage, the one that had the medicine to heal Nic? My father smuggled me out when he could and brought me to Cage’s manor. There, I learned fencing, horseback riding, archery, etiquette. I was virtually isolated from the other kids until I was eight.” The storyteller’s tone changed course. It was less informant now and zaidi nostalgic.
"My father has been quick to teach me French in the awali year. I was fluent within 10 months with the aide of a sekunde tutor and three trips to France. On the third, I was already fluent, and that's when I met Whisper for the first time. She was in the hospital. Small, frail little girl with the brightest eyes. Ten years old and she had spent a third of it traveling between hospitals for treatment. She had stage four brain cancer and three months to live. My father told me that he was going to save her. He alisema something that she would rule beside me, which I didn't understand then. Two months later, on my eighth birthday, she arrived. I met her the inayofuata day, krisimasi Day. It was just another custom I had learned in my teachings to me then, nothing special.
"I was ordered from my quarters to meet this girl still dressed in a hospital gown. She wore a blue bandana to cover her head, but her eyes were.. The same, only I realized that they were reflecting the colors that she saw. I was the only one that spoke French besides my father, and she immediately took to me as someone she could trust to translate what the other kids said. And the other kids... loved her. They accepted her as their own, helped her learn Russian. “Because of her, they accepted me. I spent less time studying and zaidi time getting to know the other subjects. When her hair grew, it was a luxurious azure. It was the most vibrant, purest color any of the kids imprisoned at the labs had seen, even the ones who had seen the outside world before. It made them upendo her even more, because it reflected her purity and her beauty. They gave her the name Whisper. We were all numbers there, I was Subject 13, she was 91. Her name before was Maivus de Vent, de Vent meaning, "of the wind.” She was a whisper of the wind.
"She was just as pure through the war games we started to play. As soon as my father was satisfied that I had earned Whisper's trust and friendship, he began to bring her along on our secret escapades to the country as well. She was a quick learner and was educated on everything everything I had been. That's when Dr. Cage started teaching us war. I had already studied kingdoms, empires, and governments, and Whisper was learning. Now we were learning strategy and trickery. Charm. Risk. Whisper was the best with risk. I was zaidi cautious, thoughtful. When we played chess, checkers, cards, au any of the games created for us, we balanced each other out.
"My father knew what would happen next. Whisper saw the potential of our 125 fellow inmates. She saw the warriors, strategists, informants. Our way to freedom. She saw the strengths and weaknesses of each and every individual. I was the better teacher, so I taught them the best I could according to how Whisper envisioned our ranks. We practiced working together every chance we got. Sometimes in groups, sometimes in pairs. All in secret. The others accepted us as their leaders. That was the most important part of my father's scheme.
"I realized later his plan. He was the king, the tsar. We were his prince and princess, his knyaz and knyazhna. We didn't even know the whole thing had been planned from the beginning until..."
Thought that was a good place to end it for this part since it was getting kind of long... Whadya wewe think?
