"This is something I need to do."
He pressed a button that made the roof open.
I frowned. "You're going to investigate, aren't you?"
He nodded, not saying anything.
"The team will be curious," I warned him.
"I know."
"And if they're willing to search, I won't stop them," I said.
He sighed. "I know."
I climbed out of the plane, disappointed. "It won't hurt to ask for help," I suggested.
He shook his head. "This is something I need to do. Don't tell the team, let them figure out themselves."
"I can't stop myself from thinking about it!" I complained.
He didn't answer. The roof closed over him, and he flew back the way we came.
My hands were balled into fists when I walked into the lounge. To my disliking, the whole team was there, waiting for me.
"What took wewe so long?" Robin asked, concerned.
Batman told me not to tell you, but I'm gonna think it. Listen carefully, because I won't repeat.
"Alright," Megan thought.
And through my mind, I had told them all about the adventure I had been on with Batman, from the Tower of Babel to Jason Todd's tragic story.
"Harsh!" Kid Flash exclaimed, aloud now.
Aqualad nodded. "I agree."
Suddenly, the alarm rang, right then and there. The team rushed to the Mission Room, leaving me and Superboy behind.
Superboy stood kwa the door. "Aren't wewe coming?"
"Hold on a second." I went to the jikoni and looked in the cupboards.
"What are wewe doing?" he inquired, following me.
"I HAVE to be awake for the mission!" My tone of voice was stubborn.
I inserted the cup under the ice capsule in the refrigerator and hit the button until the cup was full.
I handed it to Superboy. "Do wewe mind pouring it in my shirt?"
He took the cup and poured all the ice inside my shati until I shivered. "Are wewe sure wewe should be doing this?"
"Y-yeah," I stuttered. "I-I'm awake now, aren't I?"
I flew to the Mission Room with him close behind me. Black Canary was in the middle of explaining what he had to do when we arrived.
She made no note of apprehension. "There's been a series of explosions leading to England. We have intel telling us that the man detonatiing these explosions is the Red Hood."
We all stopped dead.
"The Justice League suspects that Red kofia is heading for the Lazarus Pit in England, probably to plan revenge on Ra's Al-Ghul."
"But Ra's Al-Ghul is at the Tower of Babel!" I told her.
"Yes, but Ra's travels to the Lazarus Pit almost every week to check up on it. We need wewe guys to stop this Red kofia from reaching the Lazarus Pit."
We were about to head to the plane when she ran in front of us.
She wasn't done. "But if Red kofia reaches the Lazarus Pit, wewe come RIGHT HERE. Do not pursue him, the Justice League will handle that. Do wewe understand?"
"We understand," Aqualad alisema for the team.
"Good. Now hurry!"
We rushed to the plane and strapped in. I had my hands clutched to the kiti, kiti cha when we were heading to Red Hood's current location.
I was hoping to God that I wouldn't summon moto to melt the ice that was inside my shirt, for I needed to be awake for this.
