"NO!" I shouted. It was perfect timing because soon enough, the pillar fell, just missing Miss Martian and Robin and crushed the chains. I was able to squirm free and kick the gun out of Cheri's hand. She let out a shout of agony, grabbing her hurt hand. "Why wewe little br-" I punched her with all my might in the face. I honestly couldn't take any zaidi of her. Examining the room, I only counted 4 out of the 5 people on the team. "Artemis!" I thought out loud. As if on cue, Artemis staggered into the room, clutching the side of her head.
I ran up to her and gave her a hug. "A-Artemis, you're bleeding." I recognized shakily. She smiled weakly, like it hurt, "Just a little scrape. Nothing I can't handle." I smiled back, trying to ease the tension. Superboy finally stood up and walked over to us. "What happened?" He asked. I shrugged. "I don't know. It was some kind of, I guess... kryptonite ray-gun... au something like that." I answered. He snorted. "Com'on, lets wake up the others. I don't know if Robin is ok, that shot hit him pretty hard the first time." We all separated. Artemis actually jumped at the chance to make sure Kid Flash was ok. "Um, I don't mean to be snoopy au anything, but how long have they been a couple?" I whispered to Superboy, but then realized he wasn't there. He was hugging a drowsy Miss Martian. I laughed a bit, then ran over to Robin. "Rob?" I shook him gently. The only response I got was a small groan. "Birdy-boy?" I shook him a bit harder.
There was another groan, but it didn't come from him. It was Rick, who was already standing, gun in hand. "No, no, no, no!" He growled. The team, now all awake, except Robin, stood up, ready to attack. "Hold on," I alisema calmly. Slowly, I walked over to him, and stopped in front of him. "You had your chance." I smirked. I sent a ngumi, punch for his face, he grabbed it just inches away from his face. "That the best wewe got?" He challenged. "Not entirely." I replied. I twisted his arm around, and easily flipped him over. He quickly got back up and pushed me back. "That the best wewe got?" I mimicked him. That seemed to really get him mad, and he ran for me punching and missing me several times. "Missed me, missed me again!" I taunted. My goal was to get him so mad, that I could distract him and get him with his own gun, and it worked. We slowly made our way to where I kicked the gun. I quickly kicked up the gun with my foot and caught it in my hand. Without hesitation I shot the blue-green light, and he went flying back. "Oh, and Rick? You're fired!" I spat.
Robin was starting to wake up. "Rob! wewe ok?" I shouted over at him. I was to busy picking a lock on a safe. It might have our gear. I gasped. It was our gear, and a pile of crystals bearing a huge resemblance to the one I had. "Oh. My. Gosh." I grabbed my ukanda and handed out everyone else's stuff. Artemis smiled and handed my mkufu back. "Thanks." I whispered. I looked over at Robin, he was leaning on Wally. "You ok?" I asked gently. He nodded, then smiled, "Yeah, but I thought I told wewe not to call me birdy-boy?" I laughed. "Lets go." MIss Martian suggested. "Yeah, I have a bit of explaining to do to my mom." I said.


I walked awkwardly into the apartment, not expecting any reaction from my parents on my being gone for 48 hours. But as I opened the door to the front room, I was embraced in a huge hug kwa my mother and father. "Nice to see wewe too." I alisema awkwardly. And hugged her back.
