I rubbed my eyes and lazily slapped my hand down on the beeping alarm clock until it finally quieted down. It was 5 a.m., the normal time that I woke up every morning. Everyone else was still asleep, except Roy, like always. I quickly got dressed, slipped on my utility belt, and put my brown hair into a messy ponytail. Slowly I walked into the lounge, and sure enough Roy was there, typing away on the computer. “What time did wewe wake up?” I asked quietly. “I never went to bed.” He plainly responded with his eyes still fixed on the computer. “Still no leads on your girlfriend?” I joked while sitting down on the kitanda and clicking on the TV. “She is NOT my girlfriend. Cheshire and the league of shadows is a highly dangerous team, and they need to be stopped.” He alisema sternly. “Yeah, yeah.” I said, uninterested. All of a sudden, when I turned on the news, there was a segment on a massive hostage-style robbery in one of the banks. I turned up the volume so that Roy could hear it. “Hey, wewe want to have some fun?” I asked. I jumped up and headed for the door with him right behind me, but stopped at the doorway. “Wait, shouldn’t we leave them a note of something?” I turned to face him, but he was already looking at me. “Sydney, I’m sure they’ll be fine. Besides, if anything goes wrong, Ryder au Corey will be able to take care of it.” I sighed, then continued to run over to our motorbikes. “You know, wewe can just call me Syd like everyone else!” I told him while turning on the engine and driving away to the coordinates of the bank.

I got there just a few sekunde before Red Arrow, which gave me time to load my tranquilizer darts into my gun. I always carried a gun, but it was never actually loaded with real bullets, just special kinds of darts. When I was 5 I ran away from the orphanage where I was raised, and stayed secretly in the basement of a police station, where they kept their guns, and I played with them everyday, making me pretty accurate when I used one. Red pulled up beside me and said, “Let’s go through the back.” I smiled, “Fine, spoil all the drama of busting in there and making a scene, kwa sneaking in.” He just nodded and took off, with me at his heels.
We made our way into the beams that supported the celling, and I pulled out my gun as Arrow pulled out his bow. I aimed, but no clear shot of any of the 5 masked men pointing guns at maybe 20 hostages sitting on the ground. “No visible shot, what about you?” I asked. He aimed, then groaned. “Too many people. I can’t shoot without hitting someone.” I smirked, “Now can we go make a scene?” I joked. His face remained solemn. I frowned at him, “You know, even though wewe are only a mwaka older than me, doesn’t mean wewe have to act older.”
We made our way down unnoticed, and hid behind one of the counters. One of the masked men spoke, “Now all we have to do is wait.” Another man joined in, “For what? We’ve got the money… why can’t we just leave now?” He was obviously a newbie. “Because, the boss alisema to wait for the kids.” I looked at Roy; he was too focused on the conversation to notice. “Well, I say ‘Screw the boss’, and that we should just leave and take the money for ourselves.” Another man piped up, “Ronnie, just shut up, o-“ He was cut off when I shot a tranquilizer dart into his neck and fell to the ground. The thugs all looked around, pointing their guns at the civilians, who cowered back in fear. I jumped up from behind the counter and tranquilized 2 zaidi of the men. Arrow jumped up inayofuata to me, “Nice move.” He alisema sarcastically.
Without warning, a door burst open, and Ryder, Corey, and Rae all jumped in and took out the remaining 2 guards. “How-?” I started. “It’s the only crime going on right now in the city, where else would wewe be?” Ryder flashed me one of his famous smiles. “Save it for your girlfriend!” Corey elbowed him, and the 2 got into a playful wrestle. Rae walked up to me, “You could have left a note au something.” She alisema with a worried expression. I looked at Roy, “Told ‘ya!” He just shook his head, “Something’s not right here. I can feel it in my gut.” He admitted.
“You got that right!” A voice from one of the civilians alisema as he, and the rest of them, stood up. I gasped as I recognized the faces. They were all villains who we had fought before. “Jinkies.” Corey said.
There was an explosion in the side of the wall, and 6 shadowed figures stood there. Immediately a voice came from the crowd, “Get them!” And we started to fight. Hand-to-hand combat wasn’t my favorite, but I was always told I was pretty good at it.
A teen about my age ran up to me,“Hey beautiful how’s life?” He asked as he started to throw punches, and I started to dodge them. “Hello, Blade.” I bitterly responded. Blade was one of the few villains who had actually had success in defeating me. But it wasn’t my fault, he tricked me. He had actually got me thinking into joining “the dark side”. I was only 14, and I was stupid when it happened. From then on, he had always been flirtatious with me, and maybe, I might have been a bit flirtatious with him too. We continued fighting, “So, having fun?” He asked casually, as I tripped him. “Now I am.” I alisema when I had him pinned to the ground. He looked me in the eyes, and in that moment, I could have got him. But something inside of me told me not to. Slowly and reluctantly, I got up and let him run off as the fighting slowly came to a halt. “Next time, princess!” He shouted as he ran off.

In the settling dust, I could take into account everyone from our team, and the 6 others from before. When the dust finally settled, Rae practically jumped up and ran over to the other teens standing across from us. “Art!” She shouted, embracing one of the members. “Red Arrow!?” One of the teens with red hair exclaimed. “Friends of yours?” I asked. “In a twisted way, yes.” He replied.
