The kengele rang to signal the end of first period at Smallville High. Students spilled out of the classroom, moving through the hallway. Leath slammed his locker door shut. Thumbing the rose he had between the fingers of his right hand. He'd wait here anxiously for Jessica to come put her vitabu in her locker. He'd be here to sweep her off her feet.  

He say the tall redhead approaching, and he readied himself, leaning against his own locker in a nonchalant manner. "Hey Jessica"

"Oh hujambo Leath. How are you?" she smiled, fiddling with her lock until it popped open. 

"Never better he grinned. He'd made sure to put his plan into action as soon as she came into sight. He cast the small illusion, erasing the maua, ua from the girl's sight. "you're looking lovely as always" 

"you're so sweet" she responded, not breaking her gaze from the contents of her locker. 

Damn it, she wasn't even looking at him. He'd put a lot of time and effort into this plan! ... Well maybe forty dakika tops, but that was a forty dakika he's never get back!  "Wanna see a magic trick?"

"Sure..." she said, sounding a little unsure of the situation. Leath responded kwa doing some silly hand gestures, with a look of concentration. He made sure the rose in his hand was still invisible as to not foil the trick

"Quick! I need the magic words!" he said

"But I don't- what are the magic words?" 

"your phone number" he smirked continuing with his illusion.

She snorted. "You already know my phone number,  our mom's play crib, kitanda cha mtoto mchanga together every Thursday. Just ask her for for. Leath sighed. He'd meant her cell phone number, but oh well. He let the illusion slip, revealing the maua, ua to the older girl. She gasped and grinned at him. "Leath! That was amazing! How did wewe do that?!"

"A magician never reveals his tricks my lady" he winked, handing her the rose. Jessica open her mouth to say something else, when suddenly the kengele rang. 

"Oh shoot! I have to get to bio! Thanks for the maua, ua Leath!" she quickly slammed her locker shut before scurrying off down the hall.

"Well that could have gone better..." he mumbled. Suddenly he felt a hand grab at his shoulder and before he could react, he was being slammed up against the locker door. 

"What business does a runt like wewe have givin' my girl a flower? Huh?" the large boy gripped the front of his koti, jacket and Leath could almost hear the leather wrinkling and wearing. 

"Wow... wewe have really bad breath. Might want to look into that." he smirked. He watched the confusion spread across the thug's face before the anger set in.

"Do wewe want to keep all yer teeth ya little shit?" he pushed him harder against the lockers.

"do wewe want to keep your girlfriend? No one would want to kiss wewe with that poor dental hyge-" the larger boy's fist suddenly collided with Leath's jaw. The pain was sudden and sharp. He could taste blood in the corner of his mouth. Damn it! He hadn't expect him to snap so soon. And now his jaw was paying the price. 

"Yeah. I though that'd shut wewe up." the other boy alisema triumphantly. he let go of his jacket, letting him fall to the ground.

Leath rubbed his jaw. He wasn't just about to let this jerk win quite yet. Concentrating hard, he imagined a unicorn galloping down the hall towards the two. He knew it would only be moments before the bully would see it. Oh how Leath loved his powers. 

"Holy shit! What the hell is that!?" the boy's eyes widened as he stumbled backwards, away from the unicorn illusion. 

"What, I don't see anything." Leath shrugged, withholding a grin. Time to step things up another notch. He turned his gaze to a lonely ruler laying along the side of the hallway. "perfect" concentrating again, he caused the ruler to float in the air, making it swoop toward's Jessica's douchey boyfriend. It began to smack him repeatedly. 

"No! No Mr. Unicorn! Don't hit me with your horn!" he screamed. He was on the verge of tears. This was too good! It almost made up for the ache in Leath's jaw. He knew it was time to take his leave. It was best that who ever this commotion attracted didn't find him there. He didn't want anyone putting two and two together about these hallucinogenic episodes that seemed to be going around. 

He saluted his bully who seemed too preoccupied to even notice. "Until inayofuata time my bad breathed comrade!" and then Leath strolled lazily down the hall to physics. He was late (again). His jaw killed, but it was totally worth it.
