Becca stopped at the Martian girl's door. She had been heading to her own room when a noise had stopped her. It sounded like crying; not a good sign. She tapped on the door softly.
“Megan?”
“I'm okay Becca.”
“No wewe aren't. Let me in. Please.”
“I'm okay.”
“Megan, either wewe let me in au I'll let myself in.”
There was a moment of silence before the bolt on Megan's door moved. A sekunde later, Megan's head peered through a crack.
“Are wewe alone?”
“Yes.”
Becca stepped inside when Megan opened the door wide. She waited while Megan relocked her door. Megan took the kitanda and Becca sat in the dawati chair backwards.
“What's wrong?”
“You know that new girl Cassie?”
Becca nodded, tensing up at the name.
“Well, she is...”
“Moving in on Connor even though she knows wewe and he are together?” Becca offered.
“Yeah. I don't know what to do. I upendo Connor but I'm afraid I might loose him.”
“Megan, I want wewe to listen carefully. No matter what happens, wewe have to keep holding on. I know things will be difficult and you'll want to give up. But don't. Connor is a clone yes. But he also has feelings. I know for a fact that, as long as wewe keep fighting, he will keep wewe close. And don't wewe push him away because of Cassie. If wewe really want this to work, stay strong.”
“But you've never had to deal with this situation. How would wewe know?”
“I've had quite a few battles between other girls and myself. All because of Robin. So don't judge me. wewe have no idea what the journey will be like. But that doesn't mean wewe stop before you've even began. It will spoil you're adventure.”
“But what if nothing happens and Connor goes with Cassie?”
“Then wewe doubted yourself and Connor.”
Cassie looked up and smiled.
“Hey Shade. What's going on?”
“I have a message. For you.”
“Oh? Who's it from? Connor?”
“Sorry to damper your spirit but no.”
“You don't seem very sorry. In fact, wewe don't even seem to like me.”
“I don't.”
“You know nothing about me.”
“On the contrary, I know everything about wewe Cassie. And this is my message. If wewe ever get between Megan and Connor, you'll be hurt.”
“By who? wewe can't do anything to me and the others all upendo me. So what will wewe do without powers Shade?”
“Don't underestimate me, Cassandra! I'm zaidi than wewe know.”
“Really? Then how about a little spar? For fun?”
“Fine. Let's-”
Before she could finish, Becca found herself flung across the room and slammed against a wall. She fell to her hands and knees, blood dripping from her mouth and forehead.
“See? wewe can't touch me.”
“Don't count on it!”
Becca ran at her “opponent” and used every trick she knew. All of her moves, all her weapons, everything. And she was winning. Cassie pulled the lasso off her hip and wrapped it around Becca, sending an electric jolt down the girl's spine. Becca screamed and fell back down. Her arms were bound but her feet weren't. She stood shakily and pulled the weapon out of the surprised Wonder Girl's hands. She undid herself, now holding the lasso.
“I told you; don't underestimate me.”
With a quick turn, Becca had Cassie wrapped in her own lasso. A kick to the back of her knees sent Cassie falling to the ground.
“That's proof that you'll be hurt kwa me if ever wewe get between Megan and Connor. So back off!”
Becca turned to walk away when Cassie screamed out in pain. Becca looked back, twirling her escrim sticks, as the others entered.
“What's wrong?” Artemis asked.
“I was just here, listening to my muziki when Becca attacked me!”
The other girl stood in stunned silence. No way was Becca going to let that happen!
“Liar! You're not the only one with bruises!” Becca yelled.
“So what happened?” Artemis repeated.
“We were sparring,” Becca answered.
“And wewe threatened me!”
“I did not! I warned you! And my warning stays!”
“Now you're lieing! Telling someone that you'll hurt them if they don't do something is a threat!”
“I'm surprised how smart wewe are Cassie. I thought wewe were just a stereo-typical blonde!”
The final dagger thrown, Becca stormed out of the room. She would not stand for this. And she wasn't about to let Cassie get away with it either. This meant war!
“Megan?”
“I'm okay Becca.”
“No wewe aren't. Let me in. Please.”
