Why does Tarrant blame the attack on the hightopp clan on Chessur

If wewe listen carefully to what Tarrant says to Chessur, he never blames the event on him, he just yells at him for leaving them all behind.

"What happened that siku was not my fault."
"...you ran out on them to save your own skin, wewe gutless, scottish, pilgerem lickering, shukem juggeling, slurking urpal--BARLOM MUCK, EGG BRIMINI--"
"HATTER!!"

In one of the earlier script drafts there is a scene during the Hightopp Village attack were Tarrant looks to Chessur for help only to see him disappear rather than help the villagers.

While cut from the finished version of the film, the scene is mentioned at the chai party when Tarrant accuses him of "running off to save his own skin".
