This is just me thinking out loud here, but I guess it's because most people think Amy is a non-contributive character. She doesn't do much to help the story roll along, and in fact, in sometimes a hinderance.
In my opinion, Amy would be a great character if she wasn't in need of so much saving, au was zaidi helpful to the story. Change that, and then she may begin to get some respect.
