6/13. Gwen becomes the traditional damsel in distress when she is snatched from Camelot and locked in a dark tower, so Arthur mounts his trusty steed and sets out to rescue his bride, accompanied by Merlin and his loyal knights. However, her kidnapper is none other than Morgana, who has imprisoned the queen in a place that haunts the dreams of men. Before them lays a landscape riddled with hidden dangers, perilous obstacles and magical beings - but surely, the sorceress wouldn't have made it quite that easy?

Queen Mab is Queen of the Fairies. In Merlin, she can be anyone because they twist everything to meet their needs.

This arc will show how PATHETIC Morgana is. It's not enough to kill Gwen, Morgana feels the need to destroy her reputation. (Like that's going to convince people to see her as the better queen.) I can imagine Morgana seething in 5.04, sitting in front of QUEEN Guinevere on the throne, and realizing her plan to paint Gwen as a two-timing tramp in 4.09 backfired. She'll just up the ante with "evil Gwen" so to tarnish her again and make Arthur look bad for choosing a commoner as a consort. Sorry, Morgana, when you try to pillage, plunder, degrade, torture and murder your way to the throne people are not going to like you. (If Arthur had married Mithian, Morgana would have targeted her too, because Mithian would be the queen.)

I think the magic reveal will happen in this story arc. Merlin will have no choice, he knows Morgana's powers are growing. The Ablion dream will likely die if Arthur loses Gwen. Merlin will break the spell and there'll be a showdown between Morgana - and Gwen. Merlin strips Morgana of her powers (temporarily) and Gwen gives her the beatdown Morgana deserves, making her pay for all the horrible things she's done to her. Gwen gets her pride and dignity back, and Morgana limps off with her tail between her legs (like in 5.02). Bet Morgana won't mess with Gwen after that - stand up to a bully and he/she always back down (or get beat down).
