It was called ‘Constantine’ Could songesha to Syfy as ‘Hellblazer’
Here's some stuff I remembered seeing:

A few months ago, NBC announced that its ratings-challenged comic book-based drama
would not be receiving a full 22-episode pick-up by the network, and that production would end after episode 13 was completed. In the TV business, declining to order an entire first season of a show is sometimes considered an “unofficial cancellation,” due to the fact that a channel rarely commissions a season 2 without having first optioned a full season 1.
Despite that bit of conventional wisdom, NBC has remained entirely non-committal in regards to
ultimate fate, and repeatedly insisted that the struggling fantastical procedural was not seen as a goner.
Many fans have been quick to assume that NBC was just telling them what they wanted to hear, but a new report by Cinelinx suggests that a second round of
as a viable prospect for their flagship broadcast network, but is impressed enough by the series’ passionate fanbase and heavy presence on social media to not want to cancel it outright. With that in mind, the company is considering moving
over to NBC’s cable cousin Syfy for season 2, where ratings expectations would be lower and the level of creative freedom would be increased.
over to Syfy would be to play up the horror and supernatural elements the franchise is best known for, and downplay the procedural elements some fans believe have hampered the series’ storytelling. In line with this darker creative direction, NBC is also considering dropping the
moniker of the original comic book series. This would mark the first time that the
name would be retained for a film or TV adaptation of the John Constantine character.
That all said, viewers that already love the existing
show should rest assured that NBC’s potential plan would involve moving the entire current cast over to the newly rechristened
and also bringing along the same creative staff. This would not be a different show entirely, just a tweaked series that NBC feels would fall more in line with what fans have wanted from the beginning. It’s hard to imagine any fans of
for that matter – objecting to a darker, more uninhibited televised take on the source material.
Of course, even assuming that the above report is correct,
fans would be wise to keep their expectations in check until NBC announces what the program’s future holds. For every cult show that gets a second chance at life, three more get cut down in their prime, despite rumors that they’ll continue. Just ask the people still waiting for Netflix to pick-up a third season of
season 1 finale airs Friday, February 13th @8pm on NBC.

Could see it moving channel, but would they really change the name of the show if they want to keep the viewership they have? Not sure I believe this.
I always thought it was an odd fit for NBC anyway, I much rather it move than be cancelled.
I can’t believe that Grimm is outperforming Constantine! Where’s the support from DC comic fans?
Grimm is outperforming Constantine because Constantine, quite honestly, is not that interesting. I watched the first episode and got bored, but I finished it anyway. The problem for me was that there was nothing really individual or interesting about it, and I thought the special effects were poor. YMMV, but Constantine should have been more over-the-top from the beginning. What keeps people coming back to Grimm is the fact that it *is* over-the-top, consistently, every week, and they don’t hold back on the gore or the freakish aspects. If Constantine went to SyFy I would be more likely to tune in, to see if they up the ante enough to make it interesting.
Changing the name to Hellblazer implies you want to dabble a lot more into the HB realm and what was on NBC was a complete dumb down version of that realm. The HB short films did a better job of showing that HB atmosphere than NBC’s show… until it becomes tonely more like them then Syfy or NBC won’t make a difference
If it got transferred over to the SyFy network I’d watch.
If they stick the story and not have it turn out like every other syfy show thats on the network ill keep watching. Let them keep the name, no point in changing it.
This is genius. Syfy is back in full force with such great shows and this show could really thrive there.
I think this would be good, SyFy has been bringing out some good stuff recently. I think going into the darker direction is great too. Plus maybe then Swamp Thing can come on an episode too. I know Liv isn’t a real character from the comic, but I’d like to see whatever happened to her character. So I hope she shows up for an episode. David Goyer did say if there was a second season he’d like to explore some stuff with her.
The only down side I see is for the most part Syfy cancels most of their series after season 5 no matter how good the series is. If that’s the case all they are going to do is get us really hooked then drop it after season 5.
For some reason I have a feeling they wouldn’t drop the name completely, in order to not confuse causal viewers too much. I could see them calling it something like Constantine: Hellblazer if they end up moving it.
Please, let this happen! I love the show and would hate to see it go.
A darker show with more horror elements sounds great.
The Dark Forces has taken control over the channel..!!
It has something more than supernatural (which is still awesome) and Grimm…
