I've seen a lot of articles, pro and con, about the Damon/Elena fight scene in 3x04 and I got to say...not a lot of people seem to understand that scene. Which is kind of disappointing, but I understand 'other' shippers that want to interpret it their way in order for it to 'taint' DE for them. Well this is MY take...

'You can't do this anymore, Damon. Not in this town. Not around me.'

'Why not, nothing I haven't done before. Why is it so important for everyone to keep me in check?'

'Because I don't want wewe to be what other people think wewe are!'

'What, a monster?! Sorry to disappoint wewe Elena but last time I checked I was still a vampire!'

'I just wish wewe didn't have to act like one!'

'I am not Stefan! How about wewe stop trying to turn me into him?'

First of all - How hot were they even when they were arguing?! :P Whew, such passion.

Next, I think at this point it's completely normal for Elena and Damon to feel the way they do. The whole point of this scene was that Elena was doing the exact opposite of trying to 'change' Damon.

The only thing she wants is for him to act how he does around her in regards to everybody. The Damon that she knows and cares deeply for. The Damon that's vulnerable around her, and lets down his walls, but is still very much guarded. The Damon that shows his humanity. If only Damon were the Damon she knows in regards to everybody then maybe her feelings wouldn't be so 'wrong' ('What does that say about me?'), because Elena has a weird need to justify her feelings as if they're wrong on some level, because everybody else see's Damon as the 'monster'.

Damon, on the other hand, well he's got a whole other bag of problems. For the first time in his life somebody believes in him. Everybody else would choose his brother over him. Katherine, his dad, Elena, Katherine again. I mean, the boys got trust issues. So whenever somebody actually believes in him, it's no wonder that his knee-jerk reaction is to compare himself to his brother as the reason Elena wants him to 'change'. It's just sad, really.

They both have a LOT of work to do, no doubt about that. This was just a really short makala to view my take on that scene :] If wewe have a different viewpoint please maoni and share.

101Katy Totally Agree! Lots of Passion in this scene its one of my faves so far :D

JerseyGirlBritt Agree, the scene was great. I watched it again the other night and it's remarkable how well Ian and Nina play off each other. I may just prefer it over the kitchen scene almost. There's something about the way Elena still believed in Damon and was trying to help him after what he did to Bill and Caroline. Her crying showed me how much she cares about and doesn't want to see him that way.

Nutika I loved it :D I hope that they will repair their relationship because now after this episode there is something like in season two when Damon killed Jeremy. He is not so bad as then he changed but still it is hard for Elena when everyone sees Damon as inappropiate... I don't get Caroline and Alaric telling that Damon is bad guy for her ;/

Delenafan2 Great article! It was a hot scene. All it needed was something as explosive as the Buffy/Spike scene in the delapitated building but I know it's too soon for that ;). I agree with you Nutika, I didn't get Caroline and Alaric telling her that either. What, did Caroline like her father torturing her? That's why Damon went after him to begin with. I guess we'll all see what happens in future episodes to come.

She choose Stefan.So what???What 3x22 really shows,not what it looks like.

S3 finale yesterday and the "choice" was made.Elena choose Stefan.I see that a majority of our fandom says that it is quitting and that Stefan got another free pass.Allthough I am mad at Stefan(for other reasons)I think that her choosing him is not such a disaster.

First of all,she actually alisema that he saved her,she met him first etc...As much as she tries to deny it,THAT is why she is with him.As much as she says "No,it is because I upendo him,bla,blah,blah" the truth lies somewhere else. "He helped me live again".When she felt dead,Stefan was there to help her.So she owes him.There is no denying...
