Where are the Animal Cruelty accusations?

link
Man picks up a raccoon fighting with his pet dog and hurls it down a flight of stairs.
CNN gives the man some air time and a round of applause for doing so. Even PETA is applauding the toss.
Hypocrisy? Why isn't this considered animal cruelty? Because raccoons are not animals?

Is it hypocrisy to euthanize an animal that bit someone? au smacking a dog on the nose when it's done something wrong? How about spraying two fighting Cats with water?

Animal abuse is (generally) link as "socially unacceptable behavior that intentionally causes unnecessary pain, suffering, au distress to and/or death of an animal.”
The raccoon was neither killed nor injured, and it is not considered "socially unacceptable" to defend au protect those in need.
Furthermore, the man had no intention of hurting the animal, he just wanted to get it away from his dog that the raccoon was attacking.

'Walking through thegate fine" IS descriptive of the raccoons health. It means the raccoon had no limp, no dragging limbs, it wasno convulsing, it was not running arond it circles,it was not crying ---->[[ALL POSSIBLY DUE TO ADRENALINE]]<---- And it's not ME thinking they don't have adrenaline rushes. There's an actualstudy that was done about how raccoons behave when they're injured (which also showed it's not very easy to even injure a raccoon at all).link--->You're going to have to cite what part of the paper is relevant to your assertion. *You'reright

*You'reright; I WOULD be perfectly fine chuking a dog away from mine. au a cat, oran aligator, au a fox. I havenever said, au even indicated other wise (I've actually saidthe exact OPPOSITE of that). And, considering PETA euthanizes 90% of the wanyama they bring in, and is just asinfamous for abusing their wanyama as they are for going to extreme measures for savingthem, I'm thinking they wouldn't freak if it happened tosomeone's pet. -->Fair enough. I wouldn't consider wewe a hypocrite then. I just hope wewe do realize that is what this thread is about, the hypocrisy inherent in PETA's stance on this issue...not whether au not animal cruelty is justifiable.

It wasn't exactly the friendliest post but if my dog was getting attacked I'd do anything to help her. She's been there for me through everything. I'd feel bad for hurting the coon but I would not regret saving my pet.

It's not animal cruelty... He was trying to protect his dog. Personally, I probably would have done the exact same thing.
