One of the subjects that interest me the most about sinema (including DP movies) is the box-office. I think that if used in the right way (I mean, inflation-adjusting things), it might be a good way to compare sinema and understed why they are maarufu au not. So I spent some time researching and I finally came up with the North American grosses of the 10 DP Movies. Hope wewe enjoy my research, my maoni and my images.

#10 - The Princess and the Frog - $107.7 million
If the word "flop" applies to any of the DP Movies, unfortunately, it's this one. The Princess and the Frog's marketing was very centered in the "return of traditional animation/fairy tale thing" and didn't consider that people might have Lost interest in this kind of movie. Though it didn't help that people created too much expectations, PatF really could have done better. Also we have to remember that it was released weeks before James Cameron's Avatar (currently the highest-grossing movie of all time) and Alvin and the Chimpmunks 2.

#9 - Tangled - $199.9 million
If this orodha wasn't inflation-adjusted, Tangled would rank #2. But we are not considering the additional price of the 3D ticket and the inflation factor has been included. Tangled was definetevely very sucessful, though not as much as its isolated numbers may seem to. It grossed twice as much as PatF and delivered Disney's biggest opening weekend ever, giving a new chance to the fairy tale genre. Part of the sucess may be explained kwa its marketing, that managed to expand the movie's audience.

#8 - Mulan - $204.2 million
Mulan was very sucessful upon its release, but not as much as the other DP renaissance movies. Maybe little girls avoided it because of the "China-War-Dragon" theme. Also, in 1998, the peak of Disney's renaissance was gone and after The Lion King, sinema started to gross less than Disney's "Fab Four" (which also includes The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin). However Mulan outgrossed non-DP sinema The Hunchback of Notre Dame(1996, $179.9 million) and Hercules (1997, $171.4 million).

#7 - The Little Mermaid - $210.3 million
Things were very hard for animated sinema back in 1989, when The Little Mermaid was released. It's even unfair to compare its gross with most of the other movies, because TLM had to "start from zero", while the other sinema found a Disney-confident audience. While it was possible to market Beauty and the Beast as "The movie from the studios that brought wewe The Little Mermaid", Ariel didn't have such thing. However, even considering this, the movie isn't in the bottom 3 of the orodha and that is already very impressive. In 1989, it was the highest grossing animated movie to tarehe (not inflation-adjusted).

#6 - Pocahontas - $258.4 million
People often refer to Pocahontas as a flop, but that's not true. The problem is that some anxious filmmakers were expecting the movie to go ahead of The Lion King's $592 million tally, and when the movie "only" grossed $258 million, they were clearly frustated. However, I'd say that the movie was mostly benefited kwa TLK's hype. If it had been released in other year, it certainly would be lower.

#5 - Beauty and the Beast - $312.5 million
Benefited kwa The Little Mermaid's hype, Beauty and the Beast managed to go ahead of that movie. The best picture nomination in the Oscars and the Golden Globe for best movie (Musical/Comedy) also helped the movie to gain interest, and to date, it beated TLM to be the highest grossing animated movie (not inflation-adjusted). With its 3D version release this week, the movie might even beat the #4 movie.

#4 - cinderella - $370.0 million
Disney's most maarufu princess didn't make it to the podium of the highest-grossing movies. Of course it was very sucessful and saved the Disney Studios, but it's not the kind of movie people remember from the theaters. However, back in 1950, it outgrossed Snow White and remained as the top-grossing animated movie until Lady and the Tramp (1955, not inflation-adjusted).

#3 - Aladin - $416.4 million
I'm sure most of wewe are surprised with this. Aladin was an enormous hit in 1992 and it outgrossed The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast kwa a very wide margin (maybe because it is zaidi attractive for boys). However, nowadays, Aladin isn't as maarufu as TLM au BatB. Also, if the orodha wasn't inflation-adjusted, Aladin would rank #1.

#2 - Sleeping Beauty - $577.0 million
Another big surprise! Bad mouths may say that this movie was a flop, but there are no words against the numbers. Though it grossed less than cinderella and Snow White upon its original release, Sleeping Beauty managed to improve its gross with its re-releases over the years. Currently, it ranks #30 in the orodha of the all-time movie grossers.

#1 - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfes - $865.5 million
This definetevely wasn't a surprise. Disney's most maarufu movie and a masterpiece from the cinema, Snow White became the biggest hit of all time upon its original release (though it was outgrossed kwa "Gone With the Wind" later). Currently, Snow White is among the juu 10 all-time grossers with an impressive $865.5 million tally.

Please maoni =)

10. Belle- I think she's ujumla, jumla just... plain, to be blunt. I mean, there's nothing special about her. Maybe everybody in this club loves her so much because she's easily relatable? The only thing I find nice about her is that she loved Adam for who he was, even in his beast form. Just... don't like her much... haha

9. Pocahontas- I'm not quite sure. Just never really like Pocahontas much... She's beautiful and stuff but... I don't know... haha She doesn't seem like a princess I guess. She's a good strong woman and role model but I just never thought of her as a "princess" so I...

So, this is probably the last thing I'm going to do for Mulan mwezi : A review, au ,in another words, my praise to Mulan.

Here are some bila mpangilio thing I noticed while I was watching the movie for the 7th time this month.

 I'm bad-ass
I'm bad-ass
The movie starts with the brave Chinese soldier. He lights the fire, which is for some reason, very risky. Many people complain how in this movie, Chinese nation is obsessed with honor, pride and things like that, but I don't see nothing wrong about. It's a positive thing, they are portrayed nicely, better than being portrayed as violent, ignorant and with no...

Okay, I bet wewe guys are like WTF at this topic. XD I personally find it to be interesting to think about. Anyway, Pocahontas and John are not included because they have never ended up together. I hope wewe guys like it.

8. Mulan and Shang

I have no doubts about this placement whatsoever. I can see these two growing old together and sticking together for many years. Sure, the two of them may fight every once in a while, but the two of them would be able to work it out. I see this couple as a realistic couple that can survive with a strong upendo even in the real world and not just in Disney's World....

How high does the sycamore grow? If wewe cut it down, then you'll never know
How high does the sycamore grow? If wewe cut it down, then you'll never know

The daughter of a Native American tribe chief and English soldier share a romance when English colonists invade 17th century Virginia.

Again, Poca is at the bottom of my list. People usually make points that it is aimed at a zaidi mature audience, and I'm still a kid, so that's probably why I find it boring.

8."The Princess and the Frog"
I'm almost there, almost there. People down here think I'm crazy but I don't care

Yeah, another makala about the theme, but I want to tackle the issue from a somewhat different direction. Mostly the pairings are argued based on how long the pairs know each other (though I don’t really see why three days should be so much better than three hours), and similar details, but I think how well a pairing works is related to what the creator of a movie wanted to achieve. The argument “I don’t believe in upendo on first sight” is not really constructive if this is the kind of romance the movie makers wanted to create. So I have roughly put the sinema in four categories.

Well I wrote a inayopendelewa prince makala so I decided to write a most handsome makala too, hope you'll enjoy it :)

10. Beast (human form only)

It's hard to rank an animal so I'll only base my ranking on his human form. I seriously think he should remain beast, I hate his human form, his hair is too similar to Belle's and his smile is a bit weird to me, but his eyes are beautiful. His hair is actually even zaidi awful when it's in a ponytail, the loose hair is acceptable, but in a ponytail it looks so awful to be honest!

9. Shang

I don't get why people finds him handsome, his hair is...

For my first makala I am going to do a prettiest Disney Princess face list. Why just faces? Because I like to vary from the norm. I might do body au hair lists another time. Anyway, shall we get down to business?

11. Snow White
All the princesses' faces have something pretty about them, but Snow White's face is just a little generic for my tastes. I mean, she has lovely brown eyes and rosy cheeks, but that doesn't save her from last place.
Pleasant features: Sweet eyes, ruby lips
Unpleasant features: Slightly chubby face, too generic
