It was a tough choice between Aladdin and this, but I chose Sleeping beauty because it's only a tiny sliver of the original fairytale. Of course, there's the tiny detail that she's supposed to get raped and have two children WHILE SHE'S STILL ASLEEP, but then there's also the fact that the prince is already married, and his mother wants to eat Sleeping Beauty's children.

Sleeping beauty is more based in the ballet than the fairy tale, and it is very close to the grimm version, which ends with her waking up.

Aladdin...that's a totally different story. Which is a good thing. But the movie omits the mother, the ghost of the ring, the palace which is built for Aladdin, just to mention a few thing. Honestly, the only thing left is Aladdin and the lamp.

^That. So much was added AND taken out. Most people don't even know Jasmine was Chinese with a nearly impossible to pronounce name and Jafar was his uncle.

This story takes place in CHINA unlike the Disney version, Jasmine's character is extremely spoiled and flat, Aladdin had two genies (I think), there was no royal vizier (it was an "uncle"), his mother is alive, there is no moral, the romance is not developed, Aladdin is not as poor as in the movie, there was no pop culture references in the tale, the characters are Chinese. This has practically nothing to do with the tale, while Tangled has some.

The lessons in the movie and book, characters, setting, even plot is completely different. The Little Mermaid has more in common with it's original material than this does. Also, the tale has no pop-culture references.

I REALLY hope this finally leaves. I still think it should have went before TLM

The man in Aladdin claims to be his uncle, but i think it´s a lie to get Aladdin and his mother to trust him, nothing more.
I can´t remember Badroulbadour to be spoiled. Of course her character is flat, she isn´t the main character of the story that´s pretty normal.

As far as the ending of Sleeping Beauty goes - i know the part where the prince/king takes her and their children to his kingdom as a second part of the story and that it was his wife and not his mother who wanted to murder the princess and her children :)

China, he had a mom, and the Genie was a bit mean.
