With Mulan, I think the score is outstanding and of the four songs (I never count the end-credits), two are really good and two are good...none of the songs slows down the movie or is useless. But the downside is that the songs and the score are so different from each other. The little Mermaid is a mixed package...one or two really good score pieces (especially the gig and the tour through the kingdom), and with "Under the sea" and "Part of the world" real showpiece song, but on the other hand, also one or two really weak pieces (for a Disney movie) inbetween. I go for Pocahontas...because, hostly, as good as the score is, ther is only one song I really like, and that's "Savages". "Colours of the wind" is too preachy for my taste, and the other songs are really, really weak, especially lyric-wise. posted zaidi ya mwaka mmoja uliopita.
