If anyone was here about 10 months ago, they would know that I did this countdown. Since it has been about a year, and no one has done it, so here it is. The one with the MOST comments gets eliminated.

They are both very strung up in their cultures, beliefs, and lifestyles. And because their relationship is more about lust than anything, I see them arguing about their lifestyles and a bunch of minor to major things. It would be a problem for them to raise children and decide where they live because of their beliefs.

Silverrose, I forgot and frankly, I am too lazy to fix it. The description is there for a reason and many people that have participated in this one and in my countdowns before, know.

Good GOSH does this couple annoy me. You all know me and you know I'm usually pretty positive, I love all the princesses, love all the singing voices, soundtracks, think they're all very pretty, ect. but the one thing I can't stand is this relationship. Pocahontas and John speak to each other, learn about one another, hang out with each other. Sure their relationship isn't "deep" per say, but hanging out with someone is a great way to get to know them. Although the whole sequel and sad ending, if we/re basing this clearly off the relationship they have in the movie, I think they're more plausible than "Ohh, he's the first man I've seen up close!" and "Oh her singing voice is wonderful!" What if Eric hears a better singer? What if Ariel sees a handsomer man?

^ Ugh thank you, I thought they should go first but I was sure Poca and John would leave anyway so I didn't see a point. Ariel and Eric barely speak to each other, kind of like the Classic couples, and Eric and Ariel are a bit less sweet and non-confrontational than the Classics.

THIS is what I like. A bunch of newcomers joining and their opinions will make the rankings go different than the last time this countdown was done. I agree with y'all about Ariel and Eric, but Pocahontas and John talk abou their people, never about themselves as individuals.

^Anything? "What's your name?" "Would you like to take a tour tomorrow (or something like that)?". Okay, maybe whe don't see them talking much, but they must have talked - really, they were taking a trip. I find it hard to believe that they spent all afternoon in silence.

Pocahontas is really indecisive and John Smith is always focused on something else and not settling.

Also, how could Ariel talk about anything? She didn't have a voice. Plus, we don't get to see them talk after the whole debacle.

But they were together forever!!! Just like John Said!?!! JK yeah...it was a summer time love story for them.

Silverrose: They don't talk about each other as individuals any more than Poca and John do...

Anyone who's read my "Phonocentrism Surrounding The Little Mermaid" article knows I think this relationship is dead in the water. Eric only falls for her voice (could care less about the girl until he learned she had "that voice" then suddenly she was all he ever wanted), and she just thinks he's handsome. Those aren't very strong foundations for a lasting relationship.
